Served limited time at Dallas and Philly as an OC under two offensive coaches. Sometimes those OCs are only great implementers of the HC offense like a Pete Carmichael or Eric Bienemy. You do not know for sure until they are the HC.

Was let go in Dallas after his offense put up 6 points against a mediocre Commanders team in the playoffs.

When he was OC one year under a forner DC with the Chargers his offense was 21st in the league.

Philly's offense was good this year but it seemed to have more to do with less injuries than Moore's one year of being OC.

Has never been in a position to develop a quarterback.

Maybe they see the spark the Saints need. I hope it is there.

That’s not why he was let go in Dallas. Dallas never played Washington in playoffs. Get a clue

He’s not the perfect hire by any means but it’s not like there’s a list of elite options banging on the door. At this point we have to take an unproven risky high upside swing. McCarthy or another DA type retread is not the answer. Not saying he’s CSP but there are similarities in their lead up to being head coaches and that’s the only way we get a shot at getting out of this messy situation. He’s been a play caller for multiple offenses and will bring his own style of play in, he’s young, hungry, relatable to the players. And if he completely falls on his face then we will have better picks to turn it around than the consistent .500 seasons we’d get with a lame duck “proven” head coach.

Agree totally. I don't want to see a retread hire that might make one playoff game in a few years, promptly get blown out, then get fired a year later when the team regresses. I would much rather take a chance on someone younger and deal with the associated risks.

I liked watching him play at Boise. That was my underdog team. First FBS qb ever to tally 50+ wins. All I got.

We weren’t exactly a highly sought job this go around with the cap situation, so our options were extremely limited. I think this is about as good as it could’ve went with that said. He’s either a bridge to the next coach or he exceeds expectations and we lucked out.

He’s also the only new hire coaching in today’s game and I’m sure he’s had some contribution to the Eagles success.

The Saints have numerous problems, starting with ownership. Moore being a crapshoot isn’t in the top 100 of Saints issues.

You are acting like the Saints are a contender.

Dogshit ownership, dogshit management, dogshit roster.

Be excited someone wants the job. KM is young O minded guy and not a re tread. We need new energy.

Most of your reasons are wrong, but yes he is nothing near a home run hire.

Guy is being hired because of the success of Philly this one year and because he’s available after the Saints whiffed on every other option.

May work out, but he is not going to a great situation and has an idiot for a GM and a dimwit whore for an owner. So don’t expect much.

4 years with two #1 offenses is "limited time". With offensive genius Jason Garrett as HC initially?

2019 1st
2020 14th (Dak broke his ankle in game 5)
2021 1st
2022 11th (Dak missed 6 games with thumb injury)

And everyone knows Dak has been the playoff problem in Dallas.

Moore’s resume isn’t that much different than Ben Johnson’s.

He’s replacing Dennis Allen. A broomstick with a mop bucket for a head would be an improvement. The bar is so low, Moore will be a step up.

3 coaches. And put up to offenses under each .

You can straw man any NFL resume like this

quote:

Has never been in a position to develop a quarterback.

You can easily look at Dak’s pre and post Moore numbers. Or look to see that Hurts just had his most complete season of his career

He is like the rest of them. Ben Johnson might get fired. Who knows?

This in a nutshell. We had to gamble on a young coach. He’s been getting interviewed for a few years now. He may be good or we maybe hiring a new coach three years from now.

For the situation Loomis has us in, this was a solid A hire.

We probably should hold out hope for the guy that led the 15th, 21st & 22nd ranked offenses w NYG before having play calling duties removed; then went to Dallas and was part of the 21st, 25th & 15th ranked offenses (w no play calling responsibilities)

Check out Sean Payton’s resume before the Saints hired him.

Please note not suggesting Moore will be Payton 2.0 just don’t get to hung up on the resume not being perfect
