Wobvestigation:

LINK

1) Tomorrow's game between the Lakers and Pacers tips at 1 PM PT.
2) This was originally believed to be Luka's Lakers debut day.
3) Because of this, ESPN flexed out Friday's Jazz/Suns game to pick up the Saturday game in LA.
4) A problem arose. ESPN was scheduled to air Duke vs. Clemson at 3 PM PT, and the Laker game would have ran into the start/overlapped with it considerably.
5) As a result: the Duke/Clemson game was pushed back 30 minutes to make room for Lakers/Pacers and avoid conflict.
6) News dropped yesterday that Luka's return from injury is likely to be delayed until Monday vs. Utah.
7) Now LeBron is downgraded to doubtful, per the news below.
8) ESPN will interrupt their college basketball Saturday slate for the Pacers & LeBronless/Lukaless Zombie Lakers.

tl;dr: The NBA just NBA'd itself.

Maybe they should go back to endlessly advertising women's basketball. Can't help but notice how it all disappeared and now the NBA is dominating the front pages.

Basketball is boring.

it really does show the rough state of the NBA

it’s a star driven league (seeing how ESPn jumped through all these hoops to show a game featuring two stars) yet the stars players blow off the regular season so much at this point it frustrates fans, ticket buyers, viewers, etc.

the NBA regular season is just so easy for casual fans to completely tune out and not care and also not really miss anything

Too many meaningless games. I have more options for entertainment now instead of having to watch meaningless basketball games every week like I did in the 90s.

They are desperate to get those pre playoff ratings up to justify the anchor contracts they keep dishing out..

There was plenty of tv shows that were going on in the 90’s that you were able to watch.

Had to take the chance, are that many people going to be upset about missing Utah/Suns?

Do NBA players ever actually play? Every time I read about one of these pusses they are injured/coming back from injury/hoping to come back from injury/minutes restricted due to injury.

Not complaining about u, but can’t stand when people say meaningless games. It’s a sport where they get paid millions, it doesn’t work if leagues just play playoff games. The season is what generates excitement for playoffs. I’m sure they would not want to get paid a quarter of what they making and just play playoff games

Well clearly the extremely appealing Auburn-Florida game featuring two top 5
teams got switched from ESPN to ESPN2, but that isn’t really a big deal because I would guess that 99 percent of ESPN users have access to ESPN2.

Moving Duke-Clemson back half an hour, and in turn Arkansas-Alabama and Texas Tech-Arizona (all good games) is relatively minor as they all have good times for most viewers.

The only related issue is that another very good game (A&M vs Mizzou, both are top 15 teams) ended up on SEC network, which does have a much more limited viewership than ESPN 2.

Why would LeBron be downgraded to doubtful when he just played the whole game vs the Warriors?

Offseason for wnba. It’ll be back, and it’ll be insufferable
