I think Brees and Fitzgerald are first ballot locks. I think Eli will get in before Rivers.

Gore is 3rd all time rushing yards? Damn. 5x pro bowl and most games played ever by a RB that one may never be broke.

Drew Brees - multiple passing records, multiple all pro, SB MVP. Should have arguably won a couple of MVPs in his career, but someone always had one of those "generational" years. Was a top 3-5QB for nearly 15 years.

Larry Fitzgerald - despite shitty QB play, 3x all pro and top 5 WR for over a decade. 2nd all time in receiving yards. easily in.

for sure I think should get first team

Some that deserve getting in, but won't get 1st ballot
Frank Gore - longevity, but rarely ever "the best". 0 all pro
LeSean McCoy - great, but not routinely ELITE. 2x 1st team all pro. inconsistent.
Jason Witten - 4x allpro, top 3 TE (blocking and receiving) in his era. Just an underappreciated position so not 1st ballot.
Maurkice Pouncey -5x allpro in a decade, arguably one of the best centers for that long. historical centers and guards have literally like longevity and elite play (like 15 years of play and 7+ all pros)

Pouncey and DeCastro were both great with the Steelers, but couldn’t have been more different.

In the brawl with Myles Garrett and the Browns, DeCastro pulled Garrett away and simply laid on top of him when Garrett fell to the ground. DeCastro was commended for his actions and not escalating the brawl.

Meanwhile, Pouncey ran up to Garrett and started kicking him in the head while DeCastro had him pinned to the ground.

This concept irritates me.

Someone is either a HOFer, or they aren’t.

Jason witten

4x all pro
2nd all time in receiving yards for a tight end

I would be very surprised if he isn’t first ballot

Brees and Fitzgerald the only ones deserving of first ballot off that list

There a lot of 4x all pros out there who also are 2nd all time in receiving yards at their position that is forgetting about?

What is the argument for Witten not to be first ballot?

Anyone voting against them to get in on first ballot should go play in traffic.

No clue. I’d be shocked if he isn’t
