Didn’t see this posted. It’s very unfortunate that anyone had to lose a life in all of this. There’s the article and a portion of it posted for context. We’ll know once it all plays out. Hope that for Lacy, these are the events that actually took place and not what was initially reported.

“As the defense attorney for Kyren Lacy, I wish to address the charges of negligent homicide and clarify the facts surrounding this tragic incident. On the day of the accident, Mr. Lacy was driving on a road with two lanes in each direction. While he briefly passed other vehicles, he safely reentered his lane without incident.

The collision that resulted in the death of Mr. Herman was not caused by Mr. Lacy’s actions. The accident occurred directly in front of him when a second vehicle in the oncoming lane crossed the centerline and collided with Mr. Herman’s vehicle, in which he was a passenger. We are of information and belief that the vehicle that collided with Mr. Herman’s vehicle was issued a citation. At no time did Mr. Lacy’s vehicle strike the rear of Mr. Herman’s vehicle, nor did any of the vehicles Mr. Lacy passed collide with his. After the collision occurred in front of Mr. Lacey, he cautiously went around the vehicles after passage was safe.

It is crucial to emphasize that Mr. Lacy did not cause or contribute to the crash. There was no suspicion of alcohol or drug use involved. Furthermore, contrary to some media reports, Mr. Lacy never “returned” to the scene of the accident.

Mr. Lacy’s actions following the incident, including sharing graduation pictures and engaging in training, were never intended to minimize the tragedy that occurred. He did not believe he was at fault for the accident, and as such, he continued with his daily activities. Throughout his career, Mr. Lacy has been an exemplary community member and teammate. We ask that he not be judged prematurely, and we are confident that further investigation will show he acted within the bounds of the law. I will vigorously defend his innocence in this case.”

If this were what actually happened he wouldn't have his attorney writing about it

If that car had to swerve to miss lacy and hit the other car then it is his fault for being in wrong lane trying to pass

I get the skepticism but if I’m charged with a crime everything that comes out is coming from my attorney. It would be absolutely foolish to write something yourself even if innocent.

If what the statement says is correct and he is being charged anyway he would be a fool to have anyone but his attorney writing about it.

That is not to say I wholeheartedly believe the statement though I hope he was not the cause of the accident, but I am still a bit skeptical about this statement,

“Mr. Lacy cautiously leaving the scene by immediately driving around the wreckage and corpse of the deceased in no way was intended to minimize the seriousness of the incident.”

Failure to stop and render aid is also a crime which the lawyer just admitted. Not as bad as vehicular homicide but still a pretty bad look especially since a person in one of the vehicles died. May not have been anything he could have done and also if he stopped he may not be in this shite situation now.

He didn’t… sounds like you might be confused with Hurley’s accident?

That reads like a typical attorney statement.

Here's what doesn't make sense: why did one vehicle end up swerving off the road to the right and the other swerve left, which ended up hitting the vehicle the victim was in? Why did both drivers say they had to take evasive action to avoid the Dodge Charger?

Why would they both say the same thing if the accident occurred in front of Lacy and not behind him? If it occurred in front of Lacy, no one would have noticed his vehicle.

Attorneys bend the truth to protect their client - they are always innocent - who knew? Never heard an attorney say my client did it and is definitely guilty - trying to cause reasonable doubt - LOL

Attorney shenanigans nothing more. You expect his attorney to admit he’s guilty??

Lacy is a bad seed and karma is a bitch. I love LSU and support all our players but I would not want him (nor his damn mother) on my team.
