I love the Catholic church. I hate the pedorast politicians who run it today. I hope there is a place worse than hell set aside for them when they die.

There is no redeeming quality of the Catholic Church that justifies how it victimizes children.

That’s right where I’m at. I stopped all donations when my wife passed away so I could regroup. Now I’m looking at donation envelopes for two churches both of whom I love however keeping in mind that the Catholic Church is heavily involved in bringing illegal aliens into this country, I can’t bring myself to write a check to them, knowing it will enable even more of that.

The Catholic Church pretends that they’re the original Christians when the Bible clearly says that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist into the Baptist faith

You bring up an interesting point. I often look at the types of people that go to my church and they are almost always 50+ with not that many young couples.

Another thing I've noticed is that other subsects have been gaining traction. Baptist here is one of the main beneficiaries of the collapse of the catholic church.

At the local level, the Catholic Church was wonderful at one point. In most places it had very little regular connection with the top folks. Yes, the folks up top have always been bent.

And I mean the ideals presented. In the same way the Constitution is a wonderful document we often fail to live up to....

Is there a redeeming quality that any entity has that would justify that?

Remember all of the jeeps that were running around for years in cajun country as hunting vehicles and farm vehicles?

They were the results of local priests fudging paperwork so "the church" could get first crack at military surplus.

Those vehicles put a lot of food on a lot of tables in south Louisiana. A trivial stupid thing, but the type of thing the local church used to be able to be depended on for.

There isn't a parish that didn't send out a pedophile (for protection) or take in a pedophile (to protect) local to anyone, anywhere.

Its corrupt to the bone.

No. But doing it in the name of God is next-level evil.

They have no shame at this point.

You would think the archbishop would at least be embarrassed when it came out that he is stealing money meant to feed the hungry to pay for the church's cover up of molester priests.

But, no. This guy is drawing attention to it by bullying people with the conviction to actually do the right thing.

it's been well past time to move on from the catholic church for many people. they shed light on their good deeds to mask the deeds that they want to stay hidden.

it's how they have always operated.

stop donating and stop going. faith isn't determined by going to church once a week or how much you donate to their corruption.

When they say Archbishop / Archdiocese, remember they really mean the attorneys. So, with that in mind...

1) Most attorneys think laws and rules don't apply to them / their clients.

2) Most attorneys fully support bullying others to get their way.

3) Most attorneys are terrible at PR (hence, why they had to get the Saints PR machine to help)

4) Most attorneys are terrible with finances / understanding restricted net asset issues

That's not to say Aymond is blameless. Far from it. He started this mess and he continues to talk about of both sides of his mouth.

But, I also believe he is no longer calling the shots.

Also let's not forget the victims here who want $1M a piece, as if that's going to fix their lives.

At this point, withdraw from bankruptcy and let the lawsuits happen and let the chips fall where they may.

And 99 percent of the people who made those decisions are dead.

The people who f'd this up can't be held accountable. The people who are paying the price now didn't cause this problem.

Same problem with the Scouts.
