I was watching a YouTube video where 2 guys were trying to pick 5 cartoons to save from a list of about 40. I'm 52 and only knew of a few of them, Family Guy, King of the Hill and Sponge Bob, the rest I have never seen. Got me thinking of my favorite cartoons growing up.
1. Loony Toons
2. Tom and Jerry
3. Transformers
4. GI Joe
5. Star Blazers
The first few should be well know but my last one came on after school. It had what looked like an old WWII war ship converted into a flying spacecraft that had a huge "Wave Motion" gun on the front of it, kind of like what the Star Wars Death Star had.

Late 90s - early 2000s kid. Here are probably my top 5:
1. Fairly OddParents
2. Ed, Eddie, & Eddy
3. Dexter's Laboratory
4. Dragon Ball Z
5. The Simpsons (family time 8pm every Sunday)
Honorable mention goes to Bobobo-Bo-Bobobo, Jimmy Neutron, Powerpuff Girls, and My Gym Partner's a Monkey
Edit: WTF is so controversial about these cartoons?? 9 downvotes & not a single comment why?

My favorite. And I liked whatever show it was where Goofy would do sports and the announcer was all serious and poor Goofy would have the hardest time.

I liked some of the lesser known stuff in the 70s, like Underdog and Hong Kong Phooey.
