The PMAC can affect this game tonight

Will it happen, that’s up to the fans. We have the defense to aggravate this Auburn team. We played Alabama down to the last 4 minutes on the road. We need some crazy stuff to happen, but I believe in the upset tonight. The fans have to be in it til the end.

I bet McMan pulls all the tricks tonight
Would be a season saving win

Would be pretty cool to win this game. Hopefully a great crowd at the very minimum

The atmosphere of the PMAC, and any college basketball crowd, is largely dictated by the students. If they are into the game it raises the energy level of the entire stadium. If not, you are unlikely to see the non-student crowd carry the weight.
At this point the amount of rabid fans in the LSU student section consist of about 2 half full rows near the baseline. Maybe about 20-30 kids...at best. The rest of the lower part of the student section is never full. The upper part of the section has a smattering of people who (presumably) don't want to sit next to guys with capes and popcorn buckets on their head.
As one of my friends who was a big fan in the 80's recently said, "what the hell happened to the student section? It use to be frat guys, crazy guys, and good looking girls. Now it's a collection of nerds and weirdos."

Been like that since I was in school in the 2010s. The students are just like regular fans. If the team is good and exciting to watch, they'll be there especially for a big game. If the team sucks, they won't waste their time.

I doubt it. I am not expecting the crowd to be whipped up into a frenzy.

LSU's MBB is a joke. CMM is not the coach to take them to a F4 or a NC.

I don't think so.
On February 26, 1972 Press Maravich and his lowly Tiger team shocked SEC Champion Kentucky, who finished 21-7, 14-4 (SEC), in the then-new PMAC by the score of 88-71! Do you think that saved his job? Ten days later he was canned, only to be replaced by Dale Brown.
I gotta go to the can, man.

I would like to disagree but it is hard to with the performance this season.
I hoped we were headed in the right direction. I am not feeling that way at the moment.

Only 3 coaches have done that at LSU so that is pretty high bar. Not that that is a bad thing.

That will be a first for LSU in the NCAA tournament era. I would love it if I saw that in my lifetime.

Auburn might be overlooking a game against the worst team in the SEC so it's possible.

I'd be shocked if it's more than half full. They were trying to give tickets away for tonight's game.

It's never been worth a shite since they moved the student section from the sidelines to behind the basket on one end. When they build the new arena, they better figure this out and make the student section a better position to influence the crowd.

This is a bullshite excuse. It was moved because students were not showing up and it made much more sense to sell the sideline seats for top dollar.
Even when they changed the middle and upper levels to regular seats and kept the lower level sideline as the student section it was rarely filled.

The sad truth is that people around here don't give a single shite about the basketball program unless it's winning. If football went 3-9 or the baseball team was under .500 people would still go. LSU basketball fandom is a split between probably 500 diehard fans and a bunch of bandwagoners who just want to see LSU win at something and will gladly forget the program exists if it's not winning games.
In my opinion, it would take an Auburn/Alabama level turnaround or renaissance to generate a legitimate year in and year out excitement for basketball at LSU. Unfortunately, I don't really ever see that happening.

You will get at least 10’000 tonight but how they react from the jump will be key. And if this team plays with any type of passion the crowd will feed off that.
