What nationality/region would you say is the hardest to negotiate deals with?

My dad told me when I was a little kid to never trust a "middle eastoner" because it was part of their culture and upbringing to scam/trick/not uphold their end of a bargain and it was in fact seen as a badge of honor if they were good at scamming people in negotiations.

Your dad throws up a little every time he thinks of you.

That's too broad of a brush. Middle Easterners include Saudis, Omanis, Kuwaitis, Israelis, etc. And plenty of central Asians (Armenia, Turkey, etc.) act just like them. He's only focused on them because that's who he was exposed to.
I know a custom home builder that swore off doing work for the curry crowd (pools, etc.) because they continued to bitch, complain, etc., well after warranty periods expired, etc. Luckily, he's from the West Bank and doesn't take any shite.

I used to deal with some Jewelry brokers from NYC. Not in the business myself, but did other things with them.
They would have a meltdown if they couldnt get a discount on already discounted and negotiated prices and wouldnt let it go.

Is your dad George Lucas?

I’d add Russians to the list. Talk about it’s a part of their culture to lie, deceive, and never uphold their end of the bargain.

South Asians (Indians/Pakistanis/Bengalis) are cheap AF and will always haggle.

Indians (dot not feather).
On a smaller scale, years ago when I was still in more of a middle management role I had one Indian guy that would constantly try and scheme an extra dollar or two out of his expense report. Every expense report he submitted, I loathed looking at it because I knew there were going to be countless back and fourths. I finally came to a point where I sat him down and asked him if it was worth losing his six figure salary over getting an extra $1.50 out of his expense report.

Gotta be wealthy Asians (representing countries across the entire continent). Many of this crowd have absolutely no shame when it comes to saving a buck or getting one over on someone else. Of course this occurs in other groups as well…but it’s not the norm.

Agree with middle east and Indian, plus add Nigerians. They all complain about my prices and how they can get it cheaper in "their" country. I tell them to get it done in their there.

I’ve probably had to deal with Muslims more than the average southern American outside of the military and I never met a single one I would trust further than I could throw them. They’re your best friend if they need or want something from you, but as soon as they get it, they wouldn’t piss on your infadel arse if it was on fire.

Indian people. They’re ALWAYS trying to negotiate the cost of insurance as if it’s negotiable. They also have to research EVERYTHING and want EVERY SINGLE option and sub option sent to them in writing so they can take months to figure out if they want to buy a $20/month insurance policy.
They are a legitimate pain in my arse and I cringe every time an Indian name comes into my lead folder.

You mentioned that which must not be mentioned, this thread isn't going to last long.
