Illegals in Georgia - not current news

I moved to the Atlanta area in 2007. I had to get a Georgia license. Went to the DMV, finally got called up to finish the process. The last thing I had to do was wait to have my picture taken. I sat in a room with about 50 chairs - about half full. Almost everyone there was Latino - and very few spoke English from my casual observation. When I got my license - they asked me if I'd like to register to vote (motor-voter registration). I assume theydid the same with the non-English speaking Latinos as well.
So yeah, making an assumption, but we've been pulling in non-citizen voters for a very long time - even in a state like Georgia - that was pretty Red back then. It's no wonder it became bluer every year. We're giving our country to non-citizen victims just because they'll vote for Dem's who will give them free stuff. Thank God it's starting to change. I hope this practice is no longer the norm.

My brother in law is in the construction business and obviously there has been a construction boom in metro Atlanta for quite some time. And obviously they have used cheap illegal labor. The blacks have complained that Latinos have completely pushed them out of the construction business. Bricklayers, for example, were heavily African American. Now they’re almost all Latinos.

I moved to Atlanta in the late '80s and it was known N. GA had a shite-ton due to the chicken farms and carpet mills up there.

Are all the street and traffic signs on Buford Hwy made in Spanish yet. I moved out of Atl several years ago and it was certainly heading that direction lol

I'm in sales in a industry that requires a lot of manual labor. My customer base is rougly 50% Hispanic - 25% Eastern European - and the rest - native English speakers - your average American. The owners of the companies pay these folks about $20 an hour for very dangerous work, outside in the elements - and on the road most of the time. Not many citizens would do that type of work for that wage. But if the non citizens weren't here - all of a sudden the wage would likely double. Paying these guys 80K a year for all the hardship they endure is not being overpaid. And the industry - I don't want to say too much - but let's say the industry is huge and could easily afford these wages without passing it on to the consumer. I'd like to see that happen.
Come in the right way if you're a migrant, or get the hell out.

I moved a while ago as well, but it was bad back when I left around 2001.

Same in Oregon - everybody in the DMV with me both times is always a 5 foot tall Messican. Nobody speaks English

THIS is what the Republicans need to be publicizing and stressing in virtually every press conference and interview dealing with shipping back illegals.

I’ve been in the Norcross/Duluth/Lilburn area this weekend and everything is either Hispanic or Asian, even the girl I was seeing.

If they would just encircle Gwinnett County or Gwinnettisstain as its now known they could round up 4 or 5 million of these invasive culprits in one fell swoop.

Georgia has required a social security card to get a driver's license for at least the last 20 years. Illegals just don't get a license.

Georgia put pretty strict ID requirements for getting a license about ten plus years ago, even for renewals. It's a lot different than it was in 2007.
Also, metro Atlanta is no longer Georgia. They need to carve it out.

True but good luck finding a younger generation of urban AA's that wanna lay bricks.

We, as a country, have required prerequisites before entering the country a migrant and potential citizen for over 100 years. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 50, they aren’t always followed not enforced. Just shut up. Go back to the OT/reddit

Just stating the fact that most illegals don't give a shite about obtaining a State driver's license and Georgia requires everyone that gets a license to produce a valid social security card. So if you see foreigners at the DMV, they are most likely legal. Other states like New Mexico and Washington didn't have that requirement until a couple of years ago. Thats why Georgia has the enhanced drivers license
