Was looking some stuff showing how pats fans see boutte as a building block. Then randomly looked up his qb’s I remember seeing Max.

I don’t remember Brenan much but I see his stats were 11-3 ratio. Why did he quit?

He didn’t. He couldn’t stay healthy and he didn’t want to be in college for 8 years.

He had been here for a long time with two major injurie setbacks.

He was behind Jayden Daniels.

He was probably ready to just move on with life.

But yes he was extremely good before his injury in 2020

I think he could have been good enough to keep Orgeron's job an extra year. Probably swing two games in 2021.

He was averaging over 350 ypg and had 11 TDs in 3 starts, all against conference opponents so he was good he just got hurt. The offense was producing almost 40ppg with him. If we had any defense we would’ve been 3-0 to start that season.

His initial injury against Mizz is the only reason there is a gap between Burrow and our great QBs. His numbers were that good.

I'm about layed up with a foot injury in se asia because I was wearing flip flops on a scooter. Wear the proper footwear, kids.

Yes, solid 4 star QB. He was just competing against 2 heisman trophy quarterback's. He should have transferred to Oklahoma State and finished up his college career.

I wished Russel Shepard would have transferred to Oregon too.

He would’ve been good for us. I don’t think Heisman level, but top 5 SEC quarterback good.

He waited patiently for his turn and showed flashes in this three starts. Two season ending injuries basically ended his career. The injuries were also pretty weird. The first one had many versions and was not considered a severe one at beginning. The second one is a freaking fishing accident. I think if he was not that unlucky he could be a solid starting QB.

His initial injury against Mizz

That was an abdominal tear. A core injury for anyone is significant, for a passer, I think it adds another layer of issues. I honestly do not know if he would have recovered from that injury to the point where he looked like he did before that. Add the subsequent flip-flop injury and things started feeling fairly iffy. Then Daniels showed up. Sometimes the stars just do not line up.

All of that to tell the OP that he would have been another statistically significant QB for LSU. From what I saw, his floor was very good with his ceiling being elite. I think without the abdominal tear he ends up being an elite QB which also probably means we get another year or two of Orgeron and never see Jayden Daniels here.
