Trump and Powell on a Collision Course
I've been saying since the November win that Trump's biggest adversary will be Jay Powell. Looks like these 2 are on a collision course in 2025. I'm afraid Powell is absolutely Left leaning and will dig his heels against Trump just to spite him. Making matters worse, Powell has job security till May of 2026 which could be a problem for the R's at midterm elections with the power Powell has.

I was trying to tiptoe around that so the lefties on this board don't trap me by saying muh Trump nominated him in 2017. You're absolutely right though. Powell absolutely became a globalist elite after that and will be a thorn in Trump's side. This is far from a Reagan/Volcker team to say the least.

The Fed only cares about protecting banks. They give 0 fs about the average person. And they aren’t part of the government. Idk what really Trump can do.

Low interest rates and quantitative easing got the country into the troubles we've been in. Trump is looking at it as he has 4 years to make a mark but slashing the rates to the bone will not be helpful long term

The Fed should be driven by one thing: data. They got a late start increasing rates but since then have done a good job keeping inflation under control.
The last thing we now is to cut rates arbitrarily just to see inflation go back up.

Fire everybody on the Federal Reserve and appoint folks he wants. Let the Supreme Court decide how much say a almost (but not quite) unelected, unaccountable body can influence the global economy.

Yep. Unemployment and interest rates are low and we dont need a stimulus.
Trump is hellbent to overheat the economy and cause massive inflation. It will happen. He's going to push the economic indicators as hard as he can, which will not help the little guy at all.

Trump pushed for these things in 2019 when the economy was solid. Its what he does, regardless of economy.

Why does Trump make such bad appointments? Milley. Wray. Now Powell. When will this ever end? Do you ever get tired of the mental gymnastics one has to do to try and place the blame for these horrible appointments on anyone besides Trump?
