The transfer portal will open again during a spring window for a total of 10 days from April 16-25, 2025.

It brought Burrow. It brings out some quality guys that thought they would be the starter but maybe didn’t quite beat out the guy in front of them in spring practice. It’s not the sheer quantity of quality guys the December portal brings, but there’s some quality there.

Spring last year had a handful of good ones, we wont need much, just another guy or two potentially if we have the money to sway them our way.

We couldnt get him due to the SEC transfer rule but Bryce Foster from A&M went to Kansas and had a really good season at center there. How this year could have gone different with simply a solid center...

Burrow was a grad transfer. He was before the portal and they still don’t have to abide by portal rules.

Spring doesn’t typically have as many players available, especially impact players. Many will be reserves who are beaten out for jobs in Spring Football and are looking to start elsewhere. And the impact (or potential impact) players who are available will command higher than typical market value.

It isn’t the end of the world to be looking during the Spring window, but you don’t want to be dependent on having to bring in more than a couple of guys. We were in that position last offseason because of the late defensive staff overhaul and it didn’t really pan out.

I understand that. You failed to comprehend that I’m talking about after spring ball. There are situations like Burrow. He didn’t get the starting job, so he transferred.

Then the rest of what you said was the point I was making. It’s much fewer. But to say there aren’t any isn’t true either.

Guys who aren't starters are bailing after spring. Unless they're log jammed at a very good school or we have a the injury bug bite I'd stay away.

Hey Guy,

Between you and the Geauxfish guy….
If you don’t like the questions, you don’t need to jump into the thread.

Why don’t y’all go back to Barber School.

Spring portal is always worse than winter portal. Last year the 2 DL we looked at wanted too much but the desperation of teams drove their price up. They wouldn't have been so highly sought after in winter portal.

Best hope for spring guys is starter doesn't like new coach or something.

That’s the wave of players that waited that usually aren’t the best but command more money because supply is low. Can’t fault them but there usually isn’t a ton that of high caliber in spring.

Better? First round was a home run skill and need. And as mentioned teams look at their roster, panic and over pay in the Spring.

Veteran S and RB are only holes left.

Jones made a mistake going to NFL.
He could have made good money and raised his draft status significantly. He went down as the season went on last year.
Bad decision, that also hurt LSU at a need position.
