It’s just amazing to me how long it has taken them to demolish this dinky building. Only in Mobile would it take months to demolish this thing

Gonna need a change order to clean that up since it wasn't demoed by the contractor. I think double the original price seems fair.

Exactly.

Mother nature just saved the city some money...but the contractors aren't going to allow that windfall

I'm surprised that the post didn't find a way to squeeze in that they, not NOLA created Mardi gras

Well they kinda did make it about Mardi Gras. Since they've budgeted $1.3 million to preserve and relocate 2 mosaics from the arena one of which is Mardi Gras themed. FOX10

Looks like they're competing w NOLA for government waste as well. At least it beats this

I’ve gotten so cynical over government spending. I don’t care if it’s local, state, or federal. Corruption and grift are attached to practically every transaction. Waste upon waste upon waste. Solution? Same as always, raise taxes.

Tuscaloosa, specifically Stan Pate, has spent the last 20 years demolishing an old mall.
And it's still half standing

That’s just Stan’s negotiating strategy for a big economic development incentive deal from the city. Create and leave a huge eyesore that everyone hates until he gets handed millions in tax abatements to remedy.

I drove past it Monday, they had about a third of the roof already removed. Looking at the roof from above, if it was an eight slice pizza, about two or three slices were already missing.

Demolition by neglect during a snow storm.

Works well.

Didn't NOLA have a casino with a guy's legs hanging out for like 8 months?
