Netflix is increasing subscription prices in the U.S. and other markets — including the first hike on its ad-supported plan.

The streamer revealed the price increases along with its Q4 2024 earnings results Tuesday, when it announced its biggest-ever quarterly increase in subscribers with a gain of 18.9 million for the period.

Under the new pricing in the U.S., Netflix’s Standard plan without ads will rise by $2.50 — going from $15.49 to $17.99 per month. It’s been three years since Netflix upped the pricing of the Standard tier, which provides two simultaneous HD streams.

In addition, Netflix’s ad-supported tier will cost $7.99 per month, up $1 from $6.99. The price of the Premium tier, with four simultaneous streams, will be $24.99 per month, up $2. The cost of adding an Extra Member to a primary account is increasing from $7.99 to $8.99 per month.

Got money from Netflix in the Class Action.

Never looked back.

Shady awful company.

You couldn't pay me to re-subscribe. Netflix has been dead to me since 2010 when they were fricking people over.

Not a fan of this.

They're on a path of killing the golden goose.

This is why I stream on other, "less expensive" platforms.

This is due to NFL and them getting into more live stuff. That doesn't come cheap

Prime offers you a one-stop shop with awesome deals every 3 months.... It's almost $60 a month value for $15/ month.

Netflix.... They would claim they never received your DVDs when you were on the 4 DVDs a week plan $ , so you'd get maybe 5 DVDs a month. They over-promised, took your money and then lied about it. I don't care to support or watch anything they produce.

I'm not one to rail on any particular streaming service, but I haven't had Netflix in 2 years and haven't missed it.

Most of the other streaming services have better quality content.

Think this will be the last straw for me. It was a good run Netflix.
You got roughly 1,000 dollars out of me over the past decade.

Yep, WWE Raw every week too. Buying all these licenses and then passing on the bill. Honestly I’d rather them have kept it cheap and just had a library of old movies/shows than raising prices for overbudgeted Ryan Reynolds movies and live sports I’d rather watch elsewhere.

The ad based plans on streaming services are unwatchable now. They play ads every 10 minutes basically. We couldnt last with Max Ad plan for more than a day.

Ad based plan? You mean the same crap we watch on cable w/ the same commercial over and over again? Anytime i ended up w/ Netflix, i am bored with it after a couple of weeks. Small % of what i am interested in and i quit watching the NFL a year ago. The NFL is really the same way. They will keep expanding their subscription plan games. NFL junkies now have to pay for Amazon and Netflix at a minimum.
