To become the third LSU QB in the last six years to win the Heisman. These rankings are laughable. Beck at #2?

Heisman odds per BetOnline Sportsbook:
quote:

Arch Manning +500
Carson Beck +900
DJ Lagway +900
John Mateer +900
Jeremiyah Love +1100
Garrett Nussmeier +1200
Jeremiah Smith +1200
Nico Iamaleava +1400

SEC QBs:
I can see Lagway being a contender. He's got all the tools to be very good.

Mateer is intriguing because he's got DT ability with 15 TDs and over 800 yds rushing to go with his passing stats. The only question is that looking at the competition he played makes it hard to project his success. He had some less than impressive games vs sub par teams.

Nico did not impress me. He seems to struggle processing defenses, but he could have a year 2 starter leap.

Did Arch complete any passes this year against SEC competition? I only saw him run

I’m wondering the same. Then realized the hype in the name. He’ll always have that. Maybe he’ll pan out. Maybe he’ll be average. But we have no clue if he can sit back and read a defense, handle pressure, recover for a pick or 2 but hey he’s a manning so let’s give him the odds!

I dont think any of the sites in LA, and there are several of them, has any odds on the Heisman for next year that you can bet on.

But I'll be placing a bet on Nuss when it does become available.

It's a sucker bet for people that bet on favorites and names that they know. The same way that Tiger Woods has 40:1 odds to win a major, while anyone else of his age and current skill would have 500:1

He can win it only if he runs at least like Burrow.

Might be worth dropping a little throwaway cash on the Nuss Bus.

Honestly, there isn't a QB on that list who is that much better than him if at all.

WR Smith from Ohio State is going to get tons of hype.
I put $400 on Nuss in Vegas right before the USC game. I would have made $8,000.
It was worth a shot.
I love this 5th year player, 2nd year starter trend we have going.

I'm pretty hopeful about next season.

Pretty sure it was not +400. That's for top 1-2. Then at only +400, he would have to put down at minimum $5K++ to win enough for a used bassbiat.

You got the numbers backwards. He definitely wasn’t +400 preseason. I bet on him immediately after 3rd & 17 @ +2500

If Nuss builds upon this season and improves his decision making to limit his interceptions then he should at the very least have us in the Playoff and have a seat in NY for the Heisman Ceremony.

Guy never said he bet on +400 odds, he said he put down 400 dollars which would’ve returned $10k+

To win the Heisman you need either:
To be an outstanding passer on a winning team OR
An electrifying dual-threat on a decent or better team.

Nuss is not a runner. He can run, but he doesn't want to. People on here act like the guy is scared to run. Anyone who does not already have an agenda can see that he is 110% confident on the field. The issue he has in that he has so much confidence in his arm that he will force passes rather than run. This is why he has so few rushing yards and more than average interceptions. This is the essence of the "Gunslinger".

I can see it happening, but +1200 doesn't seem like a good value. I'd throw a free bet on it, but not a cash wager. I'll take it if I can find +2500 offered somewhere. If LSU struggles vs Clemson, I wouldn't be surprised to see +4000 or longer.
