Who would we want to as our next head coach? I wouldn't want to hire another mid major guy that has a couple good years under his belt.

WW

Some old dude that is past his prime and give him millions over what he is worth... did I do that right?

So you are basically saying that you wouldn’t hire a WW from VCU like we have in the past?

(C) (U) (N) (T) (S) here would still cry because Will Wade is hoping he gets a job in Texas, which would leave you high and dry. He doesn’t want any of you still crying over him. Face it. He’s gone and is never coming back to you. It’s time to grow up and face reality.

Guys like Drew and Sampson have more skins on the wall, but they would be VERY hard to pry away from their current job (and really unlikely). Beard has more skins on the wall too and I don't think he's going to be an Ole Miss lifer. That said, he also would be very expensive.
Grant McCasland did a really good job at North Texas and he's currently in the process of doing a good job at Texas Tech. I think LSU, if they really wanted to, could make him a big offer with the enticement of a bigger "brand name" in one of the two power conferences that is only going to get richer. However, he's a Texas native and (virtually) a Texas lifer in his coaching career, so pulling him out from there would be really tough.
All of those guys are plausible "big" candidates, but probably not realistic. That means for me, I would make a quick trip to LC to rehire Wade...for several reasons:
1. We've seen him win at a consistent level at LSU.
2. He knows the state and school. More importantly, he knows the donors/boosters and they like him. Love it or hate it, any HC has to have NIL money to compete. Wade could get it.
3. He would IMMEDIATELY pump life back into what is now a dormant program.
4. LSU could probably get him at a discounted rate relative to other similar or bigger candidates.
5. The recidivism risk is low, if not non-existent because "strong-arse offers" are no longer taboo...they're mandatory
Any mid-major up and comer brings with it a degree of uncertainty. For every Nate Oats there are probably 4-5 Matt McMahon's, Steve Prohm's, etc. And any big name, big demand HC is going to require a big contract with big job security (see Brian Kelly).
Wade simply makes too much sense (if both sides can get past their messy divorce)

You can hope in one hand, and shite in the other to see which fills up fastest, but I'm curious as to what big job in Texas you see opening any time soon?
Unless he decides to retire, Drew is not leaving Baylor.
Same for Sampson at Houston. But even if he did, Kellen Sampson has already signed a contract to be the coach in waiting.
A&M is unlikely to fire Buzz Williams.
Texas Tech ain't letting Grant McCasland get away.
MAYBE Texas decides to part ways with Rodney Terry, but their sights will be set higher than Wade.

He would be good. He is the source of where "McMahon is a good Xs and Os" coach comes from. He drew up the plays during MM first year.

He’s just an angry little girl. Don’t pay him any attention.

If he isn't given a fair chance, in other coach's eyes, we will limit ourselves on talent. It is a fine line here

our coach sucks. we arent making the NCAA tourney...MAYBE another NIT invite based on the non conference garbage schedule...cut bait and bring back WADE
