I love my avid armor chamber sealer. One of the best things that I have bought.

I may be in the market as well. Sounds like chamber sealers are better than the regular style?

The chamber style sealers are definitely higher priced it seems. I interpret that to be of higher quality.

They are but take up a lot more space too. I have Food Saver compact that works fine for my needs.

That is the last “feature” I’d look for. The wife won’t let it sit on the counter anyway.

I have mine on a shelf in our pantry. It is the biggest vevor chamber sealer. I don't use it daily, but weekly is fair. Sometimes for marathon sessions sealing fish or meat.

Is it as good as the $1000+ ones, no, probably not.

It is good though, you can get parts with a little searching, they are basic off the shelf MIC components. I haven't had an issue but I did buy some spare parts for the heat sealer, but haven't had a problem but it technically is a wear item on all sealers.

I picked up a JVR Vac100 chamber vacuum for Christmas.

It’s not cheap admittedly.

Honestly; I’m kicking myself for not getting it sooner. It does an exponentially better job than my old FoodSaver. We buy in bulk a lot and break it down into smaller units. Inevitably; with the FoodSaver some sealed better than others and freezer burn was always a thing. Plus it allows you to bag liquids. A game changer. And the bags are usually about a nickel or less.

I wouldn't go expensive until you have some experience doing it. It's like working out after the new year; everyone has grand plans and good intentions, and there is less follow through than you'd think. An $89 "shelf queen" will hurt less than a much more expensive one if you don't follow through.

I don’t know the name or model but I could find out.

My buddy bought a chamber sealer from Costco that works great.

i have a weston 2300 and i like it, was $300-$400.

people claim chamber sealer bags are cheaper but they're what and what on amazon, not much difference from what i can tell. also for liquids, i freeze then vac-seal so no big deal.

i wasn't prepared to spend $800-$1,000 on a chamber sealer but would probably pull the trigger on a vevor one if i was buying today just because chamber is better in general than food saver style. the vevor ones in the same price range seem to have good reviews.

Yes higher quality more versatile with bags. Ive vac sealed dozens of deer and loads of fish with it with zero complaints.

I have a cheap refurb one I got over 10 years ago that works great. I'd like a chamber sealer too but right now I'm about out of space for another kitchen gadget.

Chamber sealers are definitely better than bar style sealers, but until recently were far to expensive for most people to reasonably need them, even if you are processing your own wild game or buy meat in large quantities and freeze them individually for later. I think if you can get a chamber for $500, and you use it enough its a good deal, but it's still hard to beat a sub $100 vacuum sealer that takes up 1/4 the amount of space. We freeze soups and stews, and beans in plastic deli containers and never have an issue with freezer burn.

It's not something I or my wife wants on the kitchen counter, so I don't care what it looks like.

Sorry if anything I’m about to say has already been mentioned. I have purchased 3 different regular vacuum sealers in the past, and recently purchased a chamber vac. The biggest upside to a chamber vac is they have no issues with wet items. I catch a lot of catfish during spring summer and a regular vac would always have issues (I have read and tried all the tricks, pre freezing, paper towels etc) no one feels like doing that all the time. If you plan on using it a it, chamber vac
