I wanted to watch Harper and Ace. What I came away with was:

Both have good size for their positions and can score.

Ace plays better defense, is a more vertical athlete, and shows more of the intangibles.

Harper is smooth with the ball in his hands and is a natural scorer. May be limited by athleticism and defense.

I feel like Harper is the better fit for our team right now, but I don’t think we should really put much stock into that when picking in the top 3. Overall, I’d be happy with either of them or Cooper Flagg. What do yall think?

Harper, from what i have seen reminds me of conley. Is he more athletic ?

His stroke is good, but seems slow. Am i wrong? IDK

I think Harper and Bailey are 2A and 2B and who you rate higher depends on your team's positional need and value. Harper has the higher floor while Bailey has the higher ceiling.

Harper being slow is really my only concern with him, but I don’t know if he actually is or if that’s just how he plays. Sometimes smooth athletes are hard to judge, especially on TV.

So if these guys are 2a and 2b in this draft, why the hell is their team going to miss the tournament?

Well you’d think a team with Shaq, Stanley Robert’s and Chris Jackson would actually be unbeatable but…

You mean a team that finished 2nd in the SEC and was a 7 seed in the tournament losing to Indiana in the second round who made it to the final four? Sure they under performed, but that’s drastically different than not making the tourney at all, which this Rutgers team is going to do.

I just find it odd that 2 guys from the same team are supposed to be sure fire top draft picks, yet their team isn’t any good.
Carmelo won a championship with Hakim Warrick and Gerry McNamara. Dwayne Wade led his team to the final four with Travis Diener and Steve Novak. And those are freshman and sophmore helping them out.

It’s not common for top picks to not lead their team to the tourney and more often than not those top picks that couldn’t do that end up as busts

They are both freshmen, and the rest of the team is terrible.

I think that’s a fair question, and I think the answer is that the rest of their team is bad but idk. Neither player seems as dominant as I want them to be, but that seems to be more play style than ability.

I get that if it’s just one of them, like Anthony Edwards at UGA. But it’s two of them.
Ben Simmons can’t even shoot and his next best player was Tim Quarterman and he had a better team.

Half of Rutgers squad is made up of D2 guys who transferred. And half of the rotation is shooting sub 40%. That's just a poorly constructed squad around those two. They're doing their part and carrying that team the best they could. If you watch their games and watch how many potential assists those guys missed on because their teammates can't buy a bucket, you'd see why.

Has anybody watched Demin play yet? I've only seen highlights and it seems like he is struggling. I like his measurables and intangibles. Also seems like a guy that could be a long term fit here, especially helps that he is foreign and plays at BYU..

I admit I haven't watched them at all, Just find it odd the team isn't better, and yeah i get they might not be surrounded by good talent, but if they were both that good i'd just expect them to be better than they are as a team. It's still high level basketball players that should be able to hit open shots around them.
I assume bad coaching has more to do with them not being good than these two freshman and their supporting cast.

We need a top 3 pick. Get me Flagg, Harper or Bailey and I’m happy

Flagg...and it's NOT close. In fact, I'd rather have Flagg...than Harper AND Ace.

I agree it's weird that they're not better.

Why are they at Rutgers anyway?

What's the story there?

I wasn’t comparing Harper/Ace to Flagg, he’s a no brainer. I watched him set the ACC freshman scoring record last weekend. He’s clearly #1. Assuming we get pick 2-3, the only real question is which of the Rutgers boys do you take.
