Old Ebbitt Grill still comes across as a power broker's great booze and food place even though now it's part of a restaurant holding company. In early spring a featured dish is grilled shad roe... time you visit accordingly.

Skip the wine. Pair lunch/dinner with gin and/or bourbon.

For lunch, the restaurant inside the Muesem of the American Indian.

There are so many great dining spots in DC.

For a small, locals type Italian place try Tortino LINK

1789 in Georgetown was a nice, romantic place to eat. It’s been a few years since I’ve been. It’s in an old house from what I remember in a residential type area. Had a neat bar below it I think.

Old Ebbit Grill. Old historic place with good food and a fun bar.

Tosca for Italian food.

Zatinya for Mediterranean food.

Rasika for Indian food.

Blue Duck Tavern.
