Why do we treat single moms as heroes?

There is a fox news article about a single mom evacuating from the fires. I feel for her. I do. And the fact that she is a single mom sucks. But these cases are generally not because she is a widow. Either she is a “single mom” supported by the child’s dad… so less concerning. Or she had a kid with a piece of shite. Sorry for partying?
I do feel for the kids though

Someone has to buy Altimas, geek bars and keep tattoo artists in business.

I was raised by a single father. There's no need to pity kids in similar situations; they often gain unique advantages in life. You're not weak for having this background.

Most of them are crazy as hell and take their frustrations out on their kids because no one is around to check them. “Heroes” my arse, but at least they didn’t get an abortion. The ladies who kill their babies are much worse.

It's heartless, but we were better off as a society when an unwed mother was a social stigma.

This is the unfortunate result of when people ignore customs, traditions, mores, and religious doctrines. These items existed for a good reason, one was not to have single parents. The Family Unit is the foundation of Civilization.

We also called absent fathers pieces of shite and ostracized them. We need both again.

I can't imagine where I would have ended up in life if I didn't have the fear of my father's discipline growing up.

Because democrats created what is now an epidemic of immorality in this country 60 years ago.

Maybe some are. Maybe some aren't.
The fact this has you triggered is pretty lame.

Single moms are probably some of the most overlooked groups in society. There are no award banquets or honor societies recognizing single moms. Single moms, regardless of the reason are taking care of their children. It was difficult raising two kids with my wife, I can not imagine raising kids without the support of a spouse. These statements are not focused to just moms but single parents in general. It is a heck of a responsibility. Lots of needs, little rest and even less respect.

Lots of weak men don't want to pay for their children.
I don't see single moms celebrated anywhere. They are usually too busy raising their kids.
Why don't you share an example of this problem with evidence?
