The google machine tells me there’s 18 pigeon racing clubs within 100 miles of me. Sounds fun.

Mike Tyson has raised them since he was a kid.

Yeah I think the birds were his only solace while enduring a very difficult childhood.

He lives south of me here in little rock and he's driven them down to Monroe, with a cover over the coups btw, and they all made it back. Haven't lost nearly as many as you'd think when flying.

My hoping pigeons have been a crucial part of our courier department and as a way of my seedy henchmen being able to discretely send messages.

Yeah, but it is hard to decipher the messages his birds send due to to lisp.

I would imagine hawks and owls definitely love finding pigeons flying. That’s were i would say the ones that didn’t return went

Me too! But I did get a reply from an old buzzard. The message was hard to read, looked like an extremely illiterate person wrote it. Best I could decipher was, Walgreens had Astroglide on sale.

It’s very interesting,I almost got into it.Much more to it than one would think.
I went to a guys house that was into it.There is a Spring Racing season and a Fall,4 races a week apart
Five weeks before the races he would take his pigeons 25 miles 5 days in a row first week of training,2 days to rest.
2’nd week he would take them 50 miles,2 days rest.3rd week it was 75 miles,4th week it was a hundred miles then they got a week rest before then 1st race.
He raced about 25 birds. He would weigh each bird every week during training and adjust, their food intake. He kept detailed records on all those birds he raced-how much they weighed, how many ounces a food each one got daily.
Lot’s of people don’t do all that but they’re not very successful.
This guy was pretty successful but he wasn’t married, had no kids, didn’t hunt or fish.Pigeons was his only hobby.

I read this as 'homing pigeon massaging' and thought this thread was going in a totally different direction.
