Domino's 30 minutes or free

Anyone take advantage of their 30 minutes or free, back in the day? At Tech we would order and about 25 minutes later, tie up the elevators in Nelson... No way they were climbing stairs to the 8th floor. Profit
Of course I feel bad now

Stealing, such an admirable trait.

We would throw road spikes in front of the college student delivery man driving his ‘91 Corolla down Burbank Dr. Ahhh nothing like a refreshing AND free medium single-topping pizza!

I drove for Dominos in college. Went into the Gardere area to deliver a pizza on Ned Drive at night. Quit when I got back to the store.

Did they actually give it out free?
I remember back in college the day there was the glitch going on with ordering dominos online where you could get free pizzas. Went there to pick it up and by then they had figured it out. The place was packed and people were just walking out when they realized it wasn't free anymore. A few people I know made off with a bunch of free pizza though

I know, and not proud of the few times I did it
But what did I know as a hungry student in early 80s when there was no money and campus meal services closed for the weekend. Many a time I went Friday dinner to Sunday dinner hungry

Even a free Domino’s pizza sucks.

A high school kid in my town worked there after school and tried to beat a train to meet the time guarantee. The town named the overpass after him, a couple of years after his funeral.

Yes. But I think they got sued by dead driver families trying to beat the times. And dead people families their drivers ran into.
I think some of the “free” loss came out of drivers pocket as the stores had maps of areas they claimed were deliverable within the time.
But trains and backups and many other reasons slowed drivers down so there were many reports of drivers crashing and losing lives over it. Lawyers made bank and they ended it

When I was in my twenties, we would order 2 pizzas, then put our big, mean dog in the gated front yard. We would then turn out all of the lights so it would be hard for the driver to see the address. The driver took a few extra minutes trying to find the address and getting around the dog. We didn't go to the door until 30 minutes were up. This worked twice, and then they refused to deliver to us anymore.

They basically have that now still
They’ll send an email of “ this delivery time didn’t meet our standards, here’s a free pizza on us”
I get that regularly and never once has the total time been over an hour. It’s been reasonable with delivery each time yet they wanna give me a pizza I will take it . But I don’t complain and request one

And when boxes were crappier, before the little plastic triangle they put inside, the box would sometimes collapse onto the pizza. If you called and complained they’d send another for free. Think this was only on large pizzas.

Might be the dumbest thing I have read on the OT in over 10 years

You would make all of the elevators in your entire building useless for 5+ minutes because you didn’t want to pay $6 for a large pizza?
