Myrna Loy
Amazing costar to William Powell in the Thin Man series. Hilariously witty with great timing, and captivating beauty. Watching her on screen while growing up, gave me the blueprint for what I wanted in a classy lady.

Barbara Eden, I dream of Jeannie.
*"Old" Hollywood needs a clarification. Pre 1960's?

Myrna Loy
Career spanned just short of 60 years, appearing on TV movies and episodes into the early 80s.
Famously the onscreen wife for William Powell (they appeared in 14 films together and as a couple so often, it is difficult to watch, say, The Best Years of Our Lives and not think how Powell would have done in Frederic March's role, or, conversely Life With Father and not considered how Loy would have fared in Irene Dunn's role), their last pairing was in Song of the Thin Man (which had child actor Dean Stockwell in the role of Nick, Jr.)
She was also the last onscreen wife of Hank Fonda (ABC's made-for-tv Summer Solstice, 1981)
Obviously, she's way up for the category for me, as are Sophia Loren and Grace Kelly, but Marilyn is #1 and it isn't particularly close.
