Is this the most talented 5-28 team ever?

Going into the season, we thought the roster was very good with a giant hole at C.
Turns out, Yves is pretty good.
The injuries have been insane but there's still a ton of talent here.
Murray
Herb
Trey
Zion
Missi
Jose
Hawk
Boston
New big
That’s not bad and doesn't even take into account any players you get back for Ingram, CJ or a top five rookie.

The Spurs when they tanked for Duncan when Robinson got injured. They may not have been 5-29 but they only won 20 games that year.

I think it’s a huge indictment on Willie.
The players have flat quit.
Last year we won games without Zion and Ingram. We beat the Mavs twice that way.
No way this team should be this bad

I've noticed that EVEN Herb has turned the intensity level down a notch or two. Vicious rumor that everybody knows we are tanking...I'm stunned...absolutely stunned.

He without a doubt has and if you coach so shitty Herb Jones quits playing hard, it’s time to go.

No, part of talent is health and want to. It’s not all about running and jumping. We have low talent character on our team and our current record reflects that quite accurately.

Worse team in the NBA right now. Bottom of the league.

I’ve spent time and money traveling to see those guys. It’s hard not to feel like a fool.

Why did you leave out the second most talented player on the roster?

There was a slight period there where the team was legitimately 5-28 bad, but the vast majority of the season, even with the injuries, they should be considerably better than that.
I mean Murray and CJ have been back going on 6 weeks, Trey has been back going on 8 weeks, Herb has been back for a month.
Yet in the past five weeks they are 1-16, being outscored by an average of 11 points a night. They're giving up 121 points a game in that timespan.
It's not an injury thing at this point. They're more than healthy enough to be competitive.

Just bodies out there going through the motions with a lame duck head coach who knows he’s gone by season’s end.

We should be fine with all of those guys, a .500 team at worst, even without Brandon and Zion.
We have bottomed out.
It tells us a lot of things doesn't it

I admittedly haven’t watched much lately, but I’ve been thinking a lot about the hard fall on defense. I think a big part of that defensive success the past 2 years was having a critical mass of dawgs, for lack of a better term. Herb, Jose, Naji, and Dyson all got steady minutes and all brought defensive hustle which pushed teammates to hustle.
We’ve seen many times people hoping a new coach would fix mentality issues like low motor or low BBIQ. Those intangibles are talents/skills and you can only coach them up so much. You need players to have them to see it on the court.
I also think the lack of success is likely showing how important gravity is, and how you can’t just get addition by subtraction with BI and Zion. If those 2 are moved with minimal return, you might as well blow it up.

I do'nt know about .500 at worst without BI and Zion, but we shoudl at least be hovering just below it, and still be able to beat the bad teams in the league instead of losign to them by 30.
a team of CJ/Trey/Murray/Missi/Herb should not lose 10 games in a row regarldess of who they are playing against.
We're having problems just being competitive in our losses at a .500 rate.

I have said this multiple times, starting in the offseason when talking about moving BI.
Trey has been really great these last few games, but he's not BI and he's not Zion. I heard someone say it recently, we have Trey scoring 30, and we aren't even competitive.
If we move both of them, you have to get back at least 1 guy back with that same all-star level skill set.

Those guys can win games until the 4th qrt.

Absolutely no reason with this amount of talent and a leading ROY candidate to be this bad. Murray was the number one in SA a couple years ago and they won more games.

They weren't winning with BI and Z in the game either. So it's not as simple as having those guys available. This goes beyond the players.

might as well just keep rooting for the tank at this point and hope that we clean house this offseason and give the new regimen a bunch of talent to play around with.
cooper flagg on this team while dumping one of BI/Zion and Murray/CJ for assets? we will be steady rolling in no time again.
