This dude is probably the most entertaining quasi-historian on YouTube. The history of Waffle House is far more interesting than anyone would suspect.

If the cook is out front smoking when I pull up I know the food will be good.

I heard College Station still doesn't have a waffle house, OP. Not SEC ready.

Can’t remember where I heard/read it from but someone said their daughter mentioned to the dad on their first trip to a Waffle House that it looked like the inside of a gas station bathroom and I can’t get that image out of my head. Spot on but I’ll still slam an all star every other month.

Former coach Al McGuire said "If the waitress's ankles are dirty, the chili is good".

Didnt watch the video but here’s a few things I have heard
- waffles are just one item on the menu. But they have by far the highest markup. It’s just flour. But people are willing to pay because most people don’t have a waffle iron. So name the whole place waffle house and center it around that.
- divorced bitter ex son in law to the waffle house fortune started the omelet shoppe with the same exact diner motif, block letter logos etc and placed them in locations to directly compete

GA Tech grads - that’s why their colors are gold and black

Joe Rogers Jr offered me a job in 1996 - I applied to be an accountant, but was offered the opportunity to run a restaurant

That was something I had zero interest in

Waffle House is an icon and one of the reasons I’d love to have the Yellow Jackets back in the SEC
