I have a son who is living the Gen Z anti-dream. He doesn’t work at Walmart, but same idea.

Btw, wood.

She's not wrong, but she also probably shouldn't consider Walmart a career job.

She can always get knocked up by some loser and draw welfare for the rest of her life. Pretty sure that pays better than Walmart which is a big reason she's in the position she's in. Get rid of welfare, food stamps, and section 8 as they actually drive cost up.

Shes right. Starting in the Bush years and ramping up in Obama years, we started both printing money like crazy and importing the third world for cheap labor...so that Boomers could enrich themselves and use govt to bail out their recklessness

If she wasnt 18 why would she be talking about going off on her own, working full time and not being able to live alone?

I have several 20 year old grand kids

one hustles and will do well

one is committed to AC repair industry and will do okey with commercial work. climbing in attics in the summer is tough

one like the girls above is committed to just bitching .

make your own future, not a new trend

She’s right that it sucks for her. She’s wrong that she thinks it was always easier. She also should consider what it’s like in this economy to have dependents and be a working class person.

She's not wrong. Welcome to adulthood. She comes across as pretty grounded.

And WOOD. She's really cute.

What percentage of your income was housing, insurance and groceries when you were coming up though? Be honest.

A career at Walmart? She doesn't have roommates, she has caretakers!
