Brian Kelly says early indication on Whit Weeks is a dislocated ankle.

“Should have him ready to go sometime around spring ball.”

Oh hell yeah. He will be back and in great shape come training camp at the latest. Greatest news u could expect from a potential season ending injury for next season.

He will prob be in just shells and helmet for spring ball. Tell him to take it easy for spring ball and get ready for next season

I did not see the injury live, but just saw it on the recording. One of the first managers promptly called for additional help. You could briefly see the right ankle was turned sideways to the outside. The next guy that came out promptly reduced the dislocated ankle. He did it so quickly, it was easy to miss. Typical of a successful reduction of a dislocated joint, Weeks' facial expression of anguished pain immediately resolved. When he left the field on the cart he was smiling a lot. This injury should not cause him long term problems.

They put his foot in a boot, so it was a lower leg injury. Even a broken leg would have him back by March. Good news but not like it was an ACL or something that would be most of a year.

I hope this prognosis continues to be accurate. Many dislocated ankles end up resulting in the discovery of additional complications such as hidden fractures.

Yeah, he may still need surgery as it would not be uncommon to suffer a fracture w/ the dislocation. It should still be an injury the he can successfully recover from.

I dislocated my ankle. Worst pain I’ve ever felt. Problem with a dislocated ankle as my Dr explained, it would have been better to break it because a dislocation tears all the ligaments and tendons vs just a broken bone. I have never been the same and it’s always been weaker. But never had surgery and not a superstar athlete so hopefully this is a quicker bounce back.

Tony Finau dislocated his ankle celebrating a hole in one at the Masters par 3 tournament. He calmly pops it back into place. Shoots 68 the next day walking one of the hilliest courses they play
