Saw this post just now and haven't found an update.

"The building across the street from the restaurant (the guitar shop) just collapsed…we are partially out of power and currently shut down.
Doing all we can to be back up and running tomorrow afternoon for NYE. Will keep you posted.
GOOD RIDDANCE 2024"

What's with these buildings collapsing?

Maypop had to shut down earlier this month due to a building next to the restaurant partially collapsing. I believe they were able to reopen a few days ago.

Two theories
1) Insurance scam for biz interruption payout

2) The rats that were getting into the NOPD weed have found the meth stash and are in goblin mode

These really old brick buildings need care and maintenance for continued structural integrity, but generally people are unaware of that, and wouldn’t who to call to advise regarding structural integrity if they wanted to. If we were talking about a municipality that was half worth its salt, which clearly we are not, there would be periodic requirements for these structures, specifically the ones in the commercial space. Instead, there’s a mix of ignorance and indifference that makes for a dangerous combination.

They were already on the way and just needed some help. Give some crackheads some sledge hammers and they can figure out the rest
