One bad decision can really derail some lives for others and yourself...

I like that law, hopefully more states adopt it

I love the idea, but I am confused about the consequences though. How are these offenders going to earn income from prison? They need to be in prison, first and foremost.

So we want to kill the child instead of the parent.
And if you are convicted and serve time how the frick are you going to pay for child support after getting out of jail

We can rip on Texas for their love of high taxes but man they sure get a lot of things right when it comes to laws and regulations.
We can mock it all we want but “don’t mess with Texas” is real.

I get it, good intent, but how is someone likely to be going to jail going to pay child support?

If the person saved their semen or ovaries am I allowed to breed the kids, in perpetuity, to keep funding my lifestyle?

Maybe you should think about how fricked up your life will become before you drive drunk?

Emotional thinking devoid of logic. The law is either ridiculous or far too limited, there is no reason to like it as is.
Do kids of parents killed by someone texting while driving also need child support?
What about killed by someone that fell asleep while driving?
Someone that ran a red light?
Someone speeding?
After this, what is the argument for any negligent act that results in the killing of parents to not result in paying child support?

Bring back chain gangs and make them clean highways for a dollar an hour.
We are the less civilized right now because there are no real consequences for doing dumb or evil shite. Real consequences will put us back on the right track. I applaud TXs efforts.

How is someone paying child support from prison?

The other three are at least potentially genuine accidents.

We really need to go to nationwide self driving cars as soon as possible. The amount of car crash deaths will drop to almost zero.

Kinda hard to get a job to pay that with a criminal record.

Seizing and selling assets maybe.
Added benefit of being a deterent to doing something stupid and causing ones family to become homeless.
