quote:

Long-time Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has always chosen her leading men based on instinct. Her decisions often defy public speculation, as seen when Daniel Craig's casting was initially met with controversy in 2005. Josh O'Connor is reportedly the producer's top choice due to his charisma, charm, and ability to deliver sharp one-liners effortlessly. A source close to the production described him as "familiar but not too familiar" to audiences, fitting the criteria for a fresh yet recognisable Bond.

He isn't James Bond. Bad choice.

Better to just end the series instead of rebooting it.

Might as well cast a woman instead that's the most non James Bond looking guy I've ever seen.

Doesn't James Bond fight pretty regularly? That guy looks like he'd start sobbing if someone threatened him.

Ya know, Pierce still looks pretty good these days. Maybe they should bring him back for 1 movie as an older Bond. He could absolutely pull it off.

Misleading article. All THR did was take a guess. Nobody knows who it'll be

Pierce took a lot of shite being Bond but he was an excellent 007. Love his movies

To me, he fit the part perfectly. I was surprised at the negative feedback to him being Bond

I don’t remember this. A lot of people thought he’d be the perfect Bond when he was starring in Remington Steele. I think he was in talks with the producers for years prior too.

Actually he was going to take over the part but had to back out due to his contract with Remington Steele - that got us Timothy Dalton.

He was an amazing Bond. Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies are excellent. The third is ok. The last movie was just awful and stupid - so they wanted a reboot.

Brosnan was a fantastic Bond. The movies themselves were the weak link, not him. Especially by the end where they got completely retarded. He's the only thing that made the last few even remotely watchable.

Josh O'Connor looks all wrong to me, but I honestly can't think of an English actor in their 30s who looks right. And don't start with Cavill - love the guy but already too big a star and he's older than they want (he'd be 44-45 by the time the next Bond movie is released).

This GQ article has a long list of possibles. I kind of like Joesph Quinn but he's already locked is as Johnny Storm in FF4, gotta think Marvel has contractual dibs.
