Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is coming out of retirement from the NFL to sign with the Detroit Lions after coaching a high school football team to a state championship.

Bridgewater revealed his plans to unretire in an appearance recently on NFL Network, and Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that he and the Lions have come to an agreement to allow him to rejoin the team.

Earlier this month, Bridgewater led his alma mater, Miami Northwestern, to the Florida Class 3A football state title with a 41-0 victory over Raines High School.

Do these ever go well? I think it's tough for the body to spend a lifetime moving to the highest level and then stop for a good length of time, then try to go right back.

Teddy ballgame probably would’ve had a nice career if not for that awful injury in Minn.

He’s just trying to get a piece of that sweet cash doing Progressive backups commercials.

He’s a backup QB and has likely been staying in shape and throwing with his HS players.
Honestly, I can feel things shifting in the universe and TeddyB will get him a superbowl ring with the Lions.

What a stretch since he had been w/the Saints 2019 [New Orleans Saints (2018–2019)], then off to Carolina Panthers (2020), Denver Broncos (2021), and finally the Miami Dolphins (2022). The better way, would have had him as "former NFL, now retired, QB".

This is the dramatic gut punch way the Vikings’ season will be wrecked this year.

I wasn’t sure what it would be this time, but now it’s obvious.
