I went skiing in Park City on Christmas in 2021 and remember driving all over Salt Lake City trying to find somewhere open afterward. Everywhere was closed, and the few places that were open were absolutely slammed.

I learned my lesson. Skied at Tahoe on Christmas in 2022 and booked a reservation at the nicest buffet in Reno on Christmas Night two months in advance. I'm glad I did because they had a line for those without reservations that wrapped around the entire casino/hotel. Not sure if those walk ups even were guaranteed to get in. Even crazier is that this was a $100/per person buffet, not some cheap-o buffet.

You’re assuming that these people cook. Many people nowadays NEVER cook! So on holidays when everything is closed but Chinese, this is what happens.

Old Man Marlowe would’ve freaked the frick out if we asked to get a Chinese takeaway with leftovers still in the fridge.

Or they do not have enough drivers. I will have your food ready in 15 minutes but who know how long the driver will take. Shockingly, food sitting in a Styrofoam box is not the best way to assure quality. I love giving physics lessons to those people

Mexican market had roasted chicken, better than Costco

Tortillas
Cheese
Lettuce
Salsa verde

Walked out paying $25 and have chicken tacos for days
