Dyson Daniels
We traded a good young player when his trade value was at his lowest for an over rated Murray whose trade value was at its highest. Dyson is even shooting 3s and his overall FG shooting is better than Murray’s.

we were trying to win now. in hindsight its a bad move.

Dyson still can't shoot for shite. this team is broken rn. everyones stats are significantly declined. also Dyson has a better coach now

True but we got kind of hosed in that trade. If we did that trade today we might be able to get Murray for Dyson straight up. 2 first round picks and Dyson for a decent not great pg who has never been a good shooter is a bad deal, especially this year with a talented deep draft.

The Milwaukee pick won't matter and we didn't give up our own, so it's not a big deal.

The issue is financially we pushed all in and are deciding to not go all in

I valued DD a lot higher than majority on here. I was only trading him in a package for Trae. If his shot ever develops, he’s going to be a rich man.

I’m not sure it was available, but I wanted Murray for BI. Still don’t understand why the Hawks wouldnt want that. Seems it would have helped both teams.

It wasn’t. It’s been said since the trade happened Atlanta wanted nothing to do with BI as they don’t want to pay him

Murray is cost controlled on a good deal. People are over analyzing this move.

The problem is Zion and Willie tanked this team.

People on this board keep writing this, but I don't know that his contract is anything special. If you look at the players with similar contracts around him (approximately 20 above and 20 below) in terms of salary, he is right about in the middle of value. Some better players, some worse. I think he is pretty average value at his price.

Murray is averaging 16/7/7 without our top (2) stars and the (2) player that compliment his game.

Its very easy to put blame on any and all players when your coaching and management is absolute shite.

If CJ is gone and BI/ Zion are healthy then you are legit looking at a guy that can go 20/10/5 on a 30mil contract for the next 2+ years.

Everyone was cool with a CJ extension avg 20/5/4 at 31 y/o but Murray is "average value" at 16/7/7 28 y/o?

A 16/7/7 player without his 2 stars AND only 13 games on a new team/system

NBA player contracts

This list shows good context of where Murray falls in contracts.

He's better than some of the guys in the range, but he's worse than some of the guys below him as well. It's an average contract to me, at best. As to CJ, it would be very difficult to get any other team to take him on. He's overpaid.

I have no idea what you are trying to say here. No one said it is the most valued deal in the league. All that was said is that it’s cost controlled and a good valued deal, which I think is unquestioned and fully supported by your link. He’s better than virtually everyone below him not on a rookie deal, other than someone like Brunson who took a discount and will make more moving forward. And the guys above him? Poole, Grant, Quickly, Randle, Ayton, McCollum, etc. Whoof

DJ will only fall farther down this list as we move forward and contracts go up.

Dyson is doing what he did hear offensively, he was hot to start the season and then for the past month or so was very inefficient. Now for the last week or so he’s hot again. That will continue for the next few games and then he will go back to a 30% percent three point shooter. He was never able to find consistency in his shooting averages

Getting elite level defense night in and night out tho.

May make first team all defense this year just on his steals.
