I’m excited to see Colin Hurley fully develop and compete with Van Buren.

I got a good feeling about him and where he sees himself. I’m not lost on how he was very adamant that he wanted to be at LSU and wanted to compete with all comers.
I think Micheal Van Buren was a great grab in the portal. His experience and production speak volumes.

I don't have much to judge him on, but those deep balls in the spring game were a thing of beauty.

I hope Hurley sticks around. It will be fun watching him mature aa a player and as a man.

What many people forget is that he should be a senior in high school right now. Crazy.

He should have played this last fall in high school. That decision was baffling. If he didn’t like his high school he could have maybe transferred to another larger school in the area. .

College sports are different than a career. You have a limited 4-5 year window to succeed and show you have what it takes to earn the jump to the NFL. It’s a competitive field…especially at the hardest position in sports.
Knowing that your competitors are all 18-25 years old with 3-4 years of high school starting experience to lean on, why rush in with less experience at barely 17 to shift your window to 17-22?
You gain nothing by going early and you make your entire window more difficult.

Not being a debbie downer, but if he is behind the transfer qb from State, he will probably bolt after next season. Just the way it is now.

But you're so good at that.

Unfortunately, you are not wrong about that. It's hard to blame a kid for that, honestly.

If he sticks and lets the coaches do their work, he has the potential to be a unique talent in a couple of years.

Hurley won't be 18 until next April.

No one has forgotten that because some clown has to bring up how old he is in every thread he’s mentioned
He’s the LSU Ryan Williams “he’s only 17 years old!!!”

Hurley will eventually leave after the spring; he's not sticking around to go from fourth to third string. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see him staying.

Why would he not stay? Kid is the future. He’s going to red shirt and have a ton of time to learn this system before he steps in. I’d be willing to bet he gets some play time in the bowl game as well if we are up big.

Baffling? Are we really talking bad about a kid and questioning HIS choice who chose to go to college early? Did all the necessary work in the classroom to do it.
My gosh guys. The kid is one of the smartest most highly character guys I have ever spoken with. I am thankful he chose lsu and to start his college career early. Hes a born leader.
If you think he made a bad decision keep it to yourself. Because you had and have no say in another’s life. This board never ceases to amaze me.

Small sample size, but Hurley looked far and away the most poised QB out there after Nuss. I gotta think he’s the future.

Mr Hurley is that you?

Ok, let's revisit this after the spring.
