Some have suggested that SMU and Indiana performances in the playoffs prove that the SEC should have gotten another team in. The way Ohio State utterly destroyed Tennessee should the Vols have not been in the playoffs either?

Thus far 4 teams didn’t belong. I expect 2 more to be exposed as non contenders next round. (Notre dame and Boise)

Not sure they were a mistake but they were definitely mislabelled. I was reading a story on my newsfeed that Tenn scored half their points on hapless OOC victims and only averaged 25 pts in conf play. In fact their vaunted offense was not really that strong vs competitive opponents.

I expected their defense to play better than they did.

Alabama could have beaten tOSU and they also could have gotten skulldrug as bad as Tenn did...

No. Blowouts are going to happen no matter what. They weren’t “mistakes” they just aren't as good as the top tier teams.

They probably were not the third or even fourth best SEC team at the end of the season, but they got screwed because OSU was probably the third best team in the country, if not the best, and shouldn't have been playing this weekend anyway.

12 teams were a mistake. People on x arguing that quality teams were left out in favor of IU and SMU. No quality team has 3 losses. 8 teams would have been fine.

No, the mistake was making it a 12 team playoff.

There has rarely been a year that 4 teams much less more than that had an actual shot at a title.

Mist years the first round games were blow outs but we still needed more, it won't ever stop as long as there is money to be had.

I predict Boise will get blown out, proving they didn’t belong in this thing…..and a first round bye for them was beyond ridiculous.

Tenn was not a mistake. OSU just happened to play like they should have all year.

Am I missing where SEC fans were excited to send Tenn out there to represent us as some elite team?

UF and Milroe absolutely shitting their pants at Tenn is the only thing keeping Tenn ranked in the top 20. Send them and their true freshman QB on the road to OSU and we have a recipe for what we got yesterday.

Y’all using it to indict the SEC is pretty gay. Those using it to indict the entire history of the SEC is even more gay.

Nooooo, you are making excuses for an SEC team getting destroyed. And the reason Tennessee was represented as " some elite team" in the SEC was they were top 10. As far as using the term "gay" that is 100% irrelevant. But when you have no counter argument you come stay coming up with a nonsense word for this. Your post is a total failure!

Ohio State has a lot more talent than Tennessee.

Tennessee lost to 6-6 Arkansas.

Of course not. SEC and all. Plus I am sure like the LSU fans, Tennessee was simply shocked that Alabama didn’t make it to the playoffs.

If I picked the 12 teams, the only team I wouldn't put in the playoff was SMU. I would have put Miami in over them as the 12.
