What bullets are yall shooting out of the .308? Looking to make a change.
Norma 150g is what groups the best out of my son's Ruger 77. He's shot 4 deer with them and has yet to get a full pass through and little to no blood. Even on a 90# spike at 75 yards.

That’s pretty surprising honestly.
Are they the Norma 150 gr white tail?
I bought like 10 boxes for $18 a box for my ar10 because they were so cheap. I shot a doe last weekend and it went through and through and had lots of blood.
I honestly am normally of the opinion that something like a 308 doesn’t need to get fancy for deer. The Norma white tails are 150gr cup and core they should be just fine.
Is it going through bones?
If you want a more $$$$ bullet the nosler trophy grade 165gr accubond have been deadly for me in my bolt action.

Trying some out for the first time this year. Shot my first deer with one this morning. It groups like a champ. Small doe this morning but got great pass through.
Hope it works good on the bigger stuff.

150 ballistic tips grouped the best from my sons .308. It’s been a while and I don’t remember how they penetrated.

I've had good luck with the Hornady American whitetail 165 gr. Groups right under an inch. Also have had good luck with Hornady ELDX 178 gr but they don't group as tight.

This is what I shoot and most of the time I don’t even have to blood trail them when it’s <120 yards

I shoot a 150 grain Winchester ballistic tips and they group great. FYI - they are killers. Always pass through and rarely deer ever take a step.

Do they leave a good blood trail? I have some but haven’t loaded them yet.
