The never ending exponential increase in property taxes is beginning to drive a lot of people out of the state.

Actually this state just raised consumption taxes and lowered income taxes for most people. It's a step in the right direction.

This is bad. The southeast used to be the best kept secret. Seeing Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee continue to boom is bad for those that already live there.

They waited until after the election. If not they would have to reapportion the Congressional Districts in NY and Cali, and they would have lost electoral votes to TX and FL

Mississippi has been looking up, yup.
Population decrease does not mean the state isnt doing a phenomenal job with what they have.
Just look at Louisiana for a comparison.

From a political standpoint a lot of people immediately assume it’s liberals moving to those places, but often it’s conservatives moving to those places.
Liberal states are going to lose electoral votes if this trend continues.

Much of the state is doing well but we can't separate ourselves from Jackson and the Delta.

I think hes looking at if squarely from a consumption standpoint.
Most would agree that a consumption tax is somewhat reasonable.

Very wise statement. You also have to look at income level by voting party.
Most people can't just get up and move tomorrow. It's very expensive.

The shittiest state in the country has one of the highest sales taxes in the nation and just raised it AGAIN.
frick you if you think that's reasonable.
BTW that was only the first half of the tax increase. Next they are going to increase what is subject to sales tax.

Folks have been perpetuating the myth of Texas "turning purple" for a couple of decades. Back then, Florida was considered solidly in the "swing state" category. All based on this notion of influxes of "liberal transplants."
Both just had massive republican majorities in the last election.
