Why did Jay not give Terry Francona a call?

I know we are only two years removed from Jay winning at Omaha ... But last year was dissapointing to the say the least. You had Multi-Time world series champ Terry Francona sitting on the market for a year plus.
Jay could have easily had Terry be his bench coach. That level and depth of coaching on the bench may have propelled them thru chapel hill.

A catcher that didn't have one foot in the transfer portal being lazy behind the plate probably would have gotten us through Chapel Hill.

Well he had AJ Hinch and Craig Counsell bombarding him with phone calls and emails looking for greener pastures and something new so I guess in the midst of trying to deal with the aggravation of that he dropped the ball on Terry.
