When Zion was in high school he could have played with one hand and one leg and dominated.

In college he only hustled when he could get a dunk or alley oop.

Anyone with common sense could see he was lazy.

Why even draft him?

This is wrong. Duke Zion was a different player and specimen than the version we’ve gotten of him since he’s been here.

Well he was playing in a league with a bunch of 5'5'' Brysons.

His most notable play in college was running out to block a 3 pointer.
shite has turned out disastrously but we don't have to lie.

There were no red flags with the kid before he reached NOLA. I think money, freedom, and a lot of time on his hands while he was injured played a hand in developing some terrible habits that he just can't seem to overcome. It doesn't help that he was dominate straight out of the gates even when he wasn't in proper shape so he never developed a professional regime. They babied him so much through the years that there's no way he's going to change while he's here.

this and I’m also going to give griff and company some of the blame for the coddling of this dude his first few years here. I think they were terrified of another AD situation that they treated him like a king before even playing. Plus this soft arse culture griff instilled into the franchise

The Pelicans helped ruin him.

Griffin and Weatherspoon coddled him to the point they kept excusing his laziness. His arse should have been playing as much as possible.

If people think the pels should have drafted him, they are crazy.

Heck, Stevie Wonder could have seen the warning signs with Zion.

He has not done anything positive for this organization.

He was a great player at Duke. The mistake was for whatever reason, seeing if he came around on wanting to be here. It's painfully obvious to anyone paying attention he didn't want to play for the Pels. Instead we decided to hang onto him until his worth fell into the fricking toilet because this is New Orleans and that's what we do here.

Meanwhile, we turn on the guys that actually want to be here to try to appease him.

Every player and legend can see how great Zion can be besides Zion. He does things that no one else does for his size. He just doesn’t have the determination to be great. Maybe he will mature one day, but I doubt it.

I’m not saying he wasn’t a good player at Duke or that he doesn’t have potential out the roof. What I’m saying is anyone could have seen he wasn’t going to live up to expectations and was going to be a bust. He’s going to do the same thing wherever he is traded to.

It's been said at least 1000 times.

You can get fired for passing on a guy like Zion if he becomes elite. You will never get fired for drafting the kid that every scout said was going to be the next Charles Barkley.

Passing on him for Ja would have had its own issues considering Ja went full retard with guns.

Anyone? Like every organization in the NBA that wanted him?
