WSJ: A Constitutional Convention? Some Democrats Fear It’s Coming.
It’s a long read, linked above, but a good one.
Things I'd like to see ratified and clarified:
1 - Strengthen the 2A
2 - Eliminate Birthright Citizenship
3 - Strict Voter ID Laws
4 - Strict Border Security Laws.
5 - Eliminate foreign money in our elections.
6 - Eliminate Lobbyists' Influence via donations, perks and family favors.
What am I forgetting?

As Republicans prepare to take control of Congress and the White House, among the many scenarios keeping Democrats up at night is an event that many Americans consider a historical relic: a constitutional convention.
The 1787 gathering in Philadelphia to write the Constitution was the one and only time state representatives have convened to work on the document.
But a simple line in the Constitution allows Congress to convene a rewrite session if two-thirds of state legislatures have called for one. The option has never been used, but most states have long-forgotten requests on the books that could be enough to trigger a new constitutional convention, some scholars and politicians believe.
Some Democratic officials are more concerned than ever. In California, a Democratic state senator, Scott Wiener, will introduce legislation on Monday that would rescind the state’s seven active calls for a constitutional convention, the first such move since Donald J. Trump’s election to a second term.

They've been talking about this for years. Thing that worries me is rhinos flipping and going along with dims to really screw some things up.

I oppose a constitutional convention. Way too much potential for damage. A convention would allow for a total transformation of the Constitution along with the rules for ratifying changes.

zero chance you could get 26 states to agree to reparations

A radical transformation of spending is needed.

I tend to agree with you but having the movement to get reparations because the constitutional convention is taking place
the States that would pass it Vermont Maine California Washington Oregon
maybe MN
Just telling you she'd be aware of the problems you may create before you create them unnecessarily
Since there's not a strict time limit to how long states can consider the proposed amendments it could lead to political problems that we simply don't need right now because we have a good shot at a twelve year run of improvements

Election reform:
No one outside the jurisdiction/district/precinct being voted on may donate (e.g. for statewide races, only registered voters of that state...countywide races, only registered voters in that county, etc)
Only registered voters may donate (no PACs/corporations or other artificial entity. Just real live humans)
Picture ID

Do it via the amendment process, not a convention.

I’m in favor.
I don’t believe the current structure is sustainable and if the convention fails to improve things states should consider taking steps to reduce the impact of the federal government on their citizens.
The current impact of a simple presidential election is too great in a nation so divided because the federal government is too powerful.
California should be allowed to be California whenever possible without it violating the rights of Florida or Louisiana, but the same is also true relative to the federal government.
Any other approach is denying the popular will of the citizens of each state, many of which would be top 10 or 20 economically in the world on their own.

Repeal the 17th Amendment and return appointment of Senators to Governors/State legislatures
Repeal the 16th Amendment, restore prohibition of the income tax, & replace with the National Retail Sales Tax (aka FairTax)
Institute House & Senate term limits
Prohibit lobbying for 10 years after holding public office, elected or appointed
Voter ID for all federal elections
Elimination of corporate/PAC contributions.

Maybe, but sometimes drastic actions must be taken. Right now, leftist judges have destroyed the integrity of the justice system. You cant make improvements when you constantly have the threat of activist judges nullifying laws that are passed. No voter ID law will be upheld in court because even the Supreme Court is compromised.

Has to pass 38 state legislatures to be ratified as a constitutional amendment. That is a MAJOR hurdle. The point being, if it's a far left or far right proposal it's not getting ratified. Common sense proposals like voter ID and no birth right citizenship like almost every other nation in the world are pretty common sense.
