Interesting video of state size comparisons. They also added some countries throughout the world and placed them beside the states to give a model of size as well.

If you ask people what the 4th biggest state is, I bet not many people would say Montana.

You're probably right. Most people don't think how big some of these states are until you place next to one another.

And Europeans think Americans aren't well traveled if they haven't been overseas.

I knew Alaska was big, but I don't know if I realized it was legit two and a half times larger than Texas. Damn.

Cool video.

Texas is the greatest flyover state in America. It is a vast wasteland of flat, ugly brown scrub. The Texas Hill Country is scenic as is far West Texas, but that doesn’t make up for the overall blandness. The Pacific Northwest is awesome.

I've seen European traveler youtubes where they understand why most Americans do not have a passport after exploring the US.

They have no idea how big and varied it is until they experience it themselves.

We're too damn small to be growing the way we are. Wish people would look elsewhere when moving from the north.

At 1:51 in the video, something is SERIOUSLY off with Georgia. After looking at it, it is upside-down.

I also noted the size may have been off, because they showed it as being smaller than Wisconsin, and I knew that Georgia was actually the largest state of the Mississippi River in terms of size. Turns out the makers of this video are apparently including water limits as well, which would give Wisconsin more TOTAL sq. miles, but it still has less sq. miles of LAND area than Georgia.

Ohio too. Probably because they're way more populated with multiple major cities.

I scrolled back twice thinking I skipped over LA by accident.

Yeah - if you look at a real scaled map, AK is roughly a third of the lower 48. And similar to Australia, nothing in the middle.
