It wouldn’t be in my top 125 in the state. That’s laughable.

Now they are making lists to guess which cities will grow fastest in the next 2 years? BR isn’t even in the top 25 of fastest growing in 2024

I have been living outside of the USA cesspool for a while now, but i had thought that if my circumstances change and if i needed to go back for work or family reasons whatever- that the Ft Myers/Naples area would probably be the place id want to settle…. But if it’s #1 on that list, then screw all that noise.. that only means the traffic and prices will be even worse than the rest of the state and country .

I can't think of a singular redeeming quality of Baton Rouge.

Anything even close to positive is subtracted by horrific traffic and crime

I wish Ocala would stop growing. Some insanely beautiful horse farms with live oaks getting replaced by some DR Horton bullshite

Leading country in the world for the last 100 years.

- Wall Street
- National Parks
- Silicon Valley
- Rocky Mountains
- Number 1 in films most watched/culture most emulated
- Number 8 in GDP per capita with only two real countries ahead. And one of those two is Ireland which is briefly there due to offshoring tax havens. So practically #2 behind Norway.
- Leading military power in the world
- Number one in the world in free speech

Is this the Baton Rouge metro area? Or just the city?

I know some people that moved from New Orleans, Houma and LaPlace to the BR area after the hurricane. They said the insurance rates are much easier to handle. All of them are older empty nesters.

But I didn’t think that micro trend was enough to cause a measurable impact to the growth curve.

This is an interesting list.

The usual cities have dropped down to the teens and twenties and you're seeing more off the map cities/towns pop up.

I wonder if this is the younger millenials/older Gen Z crowd accepting that they might not be able to live in the most urban area and choosing low housing costs over typical quality of life metrics.
