At this point, it's set in pretty good.
Wife did a couple of deep cleans of what we think was the "dog's" room using resolve urine destroyer, wall cleaner, and clorox cleaning spray.
Smell still in there after a couple of days.
Sprinkled baking soda over the floor and baseboards last night and left a cup of vinegar out hoping they would absorb some odors.
Still smells. Any ideas?

ETA: LVP floors, no carpet

Get an ozone generator off Amazon
Be careful with it as people / pets can’t go in room while it’s running

It should help but smell may come back on humid days

Might have to call in a professional like ServiceMaster.

You might have to pop off the baseboards if it seeped behind them.

This is going to be the only answer. Urine can get absorbed into the slab. Stanley or Service master is your only hope at this point. Its expensive, but it works.

If it is carpet, go ahead and rip it our anyway.

It seeped under the floor and into the underlayment. But you know this... The solution is expensive... Pull up the flooring...

with floating floors like LVP, the worst areas are where the baseboard/shoe meets the foor. There is always a small, and sometimes quite large crack between the change of plane. Liquids will readily seep into this crack and get under the base AND under the flooring.

Its why I'm not fond of floating lvp flooring in bathrooms and especially bathrooms used by kids. Water gets under the floor and depending on the foundation, it could be there for a very long time.

If OP is desperate, he might try popping a few baseboards off and smelling around. Also pull up a few of the LVP planks if its possible.

Thanks for the replies.
Gonna try the zep, and an ozone generator.
If that doesn't work, then I'll replace the flooring.

I used all sorts of thing including some specialty cleaner from Servpro. It really did not get a lot better until I used plain white vinegar.

And that's why many places specify "No Pets" "No Smoking" as part of their lease agreement.

If the smell has penetrated the slab, you may have to seal that part too.

I walked into (rephrase), I opened the door to a rental I was checking out that was built in 2022, and didn’t want to go in it smelled like piss so bad. They’d been puppy training inside. I waked through borderline gagging, and the current tenant was sitting on the back porch, waiting for us to leave.

People can get "nose-blind" to offensive smells when they live with it. One of my sister-in-laws at one time had 7 dogs and 13 cats living inside her home and no matter how much she cleaned--------and she did almost daily-------she could not stop that smell. Also, sitting on any piece of furniture was going to wind up with you having animal hair all over your clothes.

Oh, and to add to the stench, she smoked inside her house to the tune of a pack+ a day.

If it was me, I would pull the flooring up and saturate the subfloor a few times with whatever odor removing cleaner you choose and then open the windows and let it air out for a couple days. If that doesn’t work then you could use oil based killz and put a few coats of it on the subfloor.

I had a similar situation and the flooring guy suggested sprinkling the powdered pet baking soda on the floor before putting new flooring down.

The beauty of this is it's a "no pets" complex.
This POS got a note from the doctor for a therapy dog.
I also replaced the entire HVAC last year and supplied filters for the tenant.
When I got in the unit, there was no filter installed and I could tell one wasn't used in awhile. Damn shame.

When I was in nursing school I was dating this girl that lived in an apartment in Pineville. One day she tells me she wants e to meet her neighbor.
We go over ,woman answers the door and we go in,there were couple little yapper dogs.Every square foot of the apartment had a pile of dog shite, all different ages, from fresh to gray petrified.
Husband comes in,he was the chief surgical resident at Huey P Long hospital.
We didn’t stay long, the girl says “have you ever seen anything so disgusting?”
That was a No for me.

Was the start of my adversion to ever get into rental properties.
