Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) wants to be a bridge between appropriators and President-elect Donald Trump’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency effort.
“I think it's important to have appropriators at the table as we look at opportunities for making things better,” said Britt.
The first-term senator said she’s interested in joining the newly formed Senate DOGE Caucus, led by Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), which currently does not have any appropriators on its roster. Britt is a junior member of the spending panel but served as chief of staff to longtime Appropriations Chair former Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) before being elected to fill his seat.
“I am thrilled with all the interest in joining me in making Washington squeal,” Ernst told POLITICO in a statement.

Nothing says "government efficiency" like the trained remora of one of the biggest pork suckers to ever occupy a Senate seat.

This girl came out of no where politically with billboards and tv ads. Where’d all that money come from? Stay away.

So the princess of the chamber of commerce and former chief of staff for the pork king of the senate Richard Shelby wants to run the agency responsible for cutting government spending?
What could go wrong?

Missiles, military, ag, insurance... just to name a few.
She was the head of Alabama's version of the Chamber of Commerce and Shelby's chosen successor. She had all the money at her disposal and a fake candidate thrown into the mix to make sure Brooks never got too close.

She wants on there to protect the MIC industry in Huntsville and the state.
She can't be trusted.

TBF to her, that's kinda what she's supposed to do; advocate for businesses and voters in her state. Doesn't mean I think she should get what she wants. I just don't hold it against her for trying.
