The only portal loss we have at this moment is CJ Daniels

Everyone needs to chill a little.
Womack was former 5 star who sat on the bench for 2 years and didn’t travel with the team to Florida. He wasn’t good enough to see the field.
Jordan Allen is by no means a SEC safety or an impact player for LSU. He wasn’t going to start next year and has a better chance going elsewhere.
I melted a little seeing CJ Daniels enter the portal but he really wasn’t that great. Good player. Would’ve had more playing time but definitely replaceable.
Losing Kade Phillips sucks but your corner class is still strong.
You still hold the #7 ranked class according to on3 and are looking to add 5 star OL Solomon Thomas and in the mix for 5 star DE Jahkeem Stewart where LSU is reportedly “gaining optimism”
LSU is also going to use the portal aggressively this year according to multiple sources and BK himself.
It feels like we are burning at the moment but I assure you we are not.
Let’s take a deep breath and revaluate after portal additions and Solomon Thomas’ and Stewart’s commitments.

Agreed. We need CJ to reconsider. Big part of our offense next year if he stays.

This as well. We have plenty of time to convince him to stay. Still very much in the cards. Remember there is a lot of guys that go in to test the waters and then end up staying. Not saying we are keeping him but it’s definitely possible.

“Gaining optimism” is just code for squeezing USC for more money.
LSU is merely a bargaining chip to get players more money elsewhere

He produced as a freshman pretty highly considering he didn’t see the field much.
He’s a very good player.

If he was a “ Very Good Player “ we would be playing much more. He didn’t play much under the previous staff or this one.

Some of yall don't understand the importance of CJ. The offense struggled without him. Zavion didnt give us anything in the passing game.
When healthy, CJ was a very reliable possession WR that you could count on to move the chains in the intermediate passing game.

That hurt a little. We offered Phillips $800K per year for two years for a total of $1.6 million. Negotiate year 3 and beyond.
Texas offered Phillips $1 million for one year for a total of $1 million. Negotiate year 2 and beyond.
LSU would not budge. Which is fine because apparently they are anticipating landing Ja'keem Jackson from Florida. He was recruited by Raymond when he was at Florida. He played 11 games as a freshman, started the first two this year then got hurt. He was a high 4 star and number 40 player in the 2023 class. If he comes to LSU as rumored he is a day one starter.

So far losing CJ Daniels is the biggest loss IMO. Daniels was Nuss' security blanket.

Perhaps he's dipping a toe while waiting to see where chips fall with Nuss since the portal doesn't even open til Monday? I agree this is hurtful if we lose him. Need to really hope Kyle Parker doesn't go anywhere and is healthy.
Damn its all just too much to speculate on at this point. I'm gonna make myself crazy reading the melt. I haven't even looked ot see what is going on at other programs.

That is ridiculous. IMO, he never should have been offered a scholarship out of HS. There was a reason he first committed to Purdue...not a highly coveted recruit. As far as C J Daniels goes, I like him more than most apparently. And I realize that MOST transfer portal entries do not return to their team of origin but I think/hope Daniels is the exception. Daniels impact would have been more if not for his apparently nagging heel issue (Kelly publicly stated that during one of his media sessions). Hey, everyone was celebrating when Sage Ryan went into the portal and withdrew his name, right? I'm KIDDING...I'm KIDDING!
