This has taken longer than I though it would but back in 2021, I assumed that every program that had the largest endowment, meaning richest alumni, would be the top 5 to 10 universities. I assumed Bama, LSU would be left behind. It's now happening.

Most changes aren't over night, so it took a little longer than I though, but you will see the top 10 in college football line up with the top 10 in endowment. LSU system endowment is $1.1 bil. LSUBR is $650 mil.

Go to the public university endowment ranking on this wikipedia link: Endowment ranking

This is what the top 10 will look like.

LSU Baton Rouge campus (not system) endowment is only $650 mil. To put in perspective little old Centenary endowment is $150 mil. LSU has 37,000 students. Centenary has 550. LSU has nearly 70x as many student, yet their endowment is 4.3x. That means Centenary has around an 18x higher endowment per student.

The endowment has nothing to do with how these kids are getting paid.

Yes I realize endowment is not paying that. But it is extremely coorelated. Highest endowment means richest alumni, richest alumni means biggest NIL, biggest NIL means best athletes.

Endowment and NIL are going to be pretty coorelated.

So you are saying Harvard, Yale, and Princeton will be winning national championships again?

Michigan? No.
Notre Dame? Not with there academic restrictions
USC? There recruiting has been mediocre and that likely remains

There is 3 schools/programs that will be consistently stealing recruits and consistently pulling top tier classes.
Texas, Ohio state, and Oregon. It’s those 3 and then everyone else.

Outside the Top 5 it gets murky, but I would not be suprrised if Uni's like North Carolina step up big time.

This isn’t surprising at all. How many Fortune 500 companies are in LA? We have 2 billionaires in the state. 2!

I disagree. We certainly have the pockets to compete and most importantly, the culture to compete.

We have to roll with the punches now.

I’d advise you to maintain a stiff upper lip and let it play out. We have a LOT to offer and a lot of NIL money waiting . It’s just going to be a rocky ride and we are all going to have to learn to roll with the punches and acclimate to the new reality of CFB.It’s as simple as that.

USC and ND's recruiting is way worse than ours

The only reason USC is getting Stewart is because of his trainer and Henderson's friendship and some bs movie promises that wont be kept

That would matter if we paid for players from our endowment or if we were paying 100m a year.

What we have now is simple;guys who commit and guys who faux commit to use as a bargaining chip.

So sign the guys who are Tigers and then raid the portal . The new reality.

I’d love to stay positive but unless we generate big $ we are doomed. Idk who or how but this should have been figured out well before it set in. We are behind the curve and shouldn’t have.

So you're telling me we could get 65 Bryce Underwoods and we're not doing that?

We deserve every bad thing that comes our way, then.
