when ESPN showed Nuss’s “first year starter” stats compared to Burrow’s and Daniels’ first year starter stats. Wasn’t even close. It was Nuss in a landslide. If he comes back and improves second year anywhere close to JB and JD second year improvement, it could be special.

He really needs a running game and two stud receivers. That will be the difference

We all know the arm talent is there, decision making needs to improve
He’s gotta figure out when to take off and scramble for first downs, something burrow and Daniels did EXTREMELY well

What both burrow and Daniels did that will be hard to duplicate, was they majorly improved their pocket presence and awareness. That’s what I use to consider the “it” factor because I thought you either had the awareness or you didn’t. Daniels specifically proved that theory wrong for me with as much as he improved in one season in that regard
Hopefully Nuss gains a little more awareness in the pocket and starts taking the 10 yards with his feet when the defense gives it to him. This will open up his receivers down field and open up the running game and make our OL look better

You guys are fools.
Nuss is not better than Burrow as a first year starter.
1. We run a completely different offense now than 2018
2. Burrow protected the ball and only threw 4 interceptions. Don’t recall but say he lost 2 fumbles as well.
That means Nuss has turned the ball over at least twice as many times.
Stop making Nuss into something he is not.
He played really well last night. Will he be better next year if he returns. Let’s hope so.

If he does this he has a shot to be the next. I truly believe we will stop people next year and with that he will be more settled and we will contend. Going on the road to Bama and Ole piss wont be awesome though. I am personally undefeated in Oxfart so I guess Im going to the game lol

Uh, one of these QBs is not like the others. Burrow and Daniels changed games with their legs.

A thousand yard RB type of season by Durham or a close and game breaking ability of Berry and Jackson with a better run scheme, this offense would be sick.
I think we need 1 elite WR in the portal though as no game breaker deep threat or a guy you can just throw if to on 3rd.
I love AA, but don’t believe he’s a true #1.

Pimpton has started coming on the past few games, not sure if he remains a TE or not.

I hope he does what Burrow and JD5 did after their first season as starter which is work his fricking arse off ALL spring and ALL summer to prepare. Get with Anderson, Daniels, etc. and throw for months on end. Hell, go to Cali and work out with that QB Sensei that JD5 saw. Just build up so much confidence that he can't be stopped!

Nussmier can do same things JoeB did with his legs.
Obv he's jot Daniels, but he does have to be
I just refuse to believe he can't make all the runs that burrow did.

Wrong. It is very close. Nuss CAN do the same with his legs. Problems is he won’t.
He’s every bit as athletic as Burrow.

Lies, damn lies and statistics.
lol

Agree, however his number of check downs and his late scrambles indicate that his decisions are a bit too slow. JB and JD processed faster or took the easier reciever first

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. If you’re right he’s doing a helluva job of hiding it.

He needs a more creative OC and he needs to take off and run 4-5 times a game.
If he can get AA and Daniels back, that's a good start for good WRs. He could use one more real go-to stud at WR.
Outside of that, he needs to work on his mechanics and the backpedaling thing and the inaccuracy/ ball security issues that leads to. He had too many sacks with fumbles down the stretch.
He played great last night after injury. What we saw there was ideal Nuss. Great way to end the season.

Oh look an objective post full of common sense getting downvoted. Big surprise.

Right from the start Burrow reminded me of Joe Montana in the way that he audibled specifically to create running lanes for himself. Neither were great runners but their vision and awareness made them highly effective runners. And Montana probably wasn't the first to do that but he was the first that 11 year old me recognized as doing it deliberately. Just move those safeties where you want 'em.

The stud WRs next year will be Anderson, Hilton (if he keeps showing the improvement he showed last night), and probably Parker, maybe Billiot.
