Russia just completed largest gas capacity pipeline in world to China, sanctions?????

So is this another sign of Russia's imminent collapse?

International sanctions are only as good as how willing countries are to enforce them. Hell, we don't even enforce many of our own laws. I'm more worried about lawlessness here at the moment.

China will likely have fractured by then. It isn't the cohesive behemoth that we've been led to believe. Shanghai, for instance, has much different concerns and goals than Beijing. The southern coast is ripe for secession as they have historically had strong economic ties to Western powers (Hong Kong/Macau). The interior is largely ignored by Beijing and they have no political power as evidenced by their lack of representation on the Politburo.

If China COULD hold out, Russia would have no chance to defend their territory conventionally. They only have about 1/9th of China's population, far lower GDP and industrial capacity, and only two rail lines connecting the far east to populated European Russia. Their only options would be to surrender the territories or jump straight to nuclear conflict.

Going to be interesting to see how that one plays out. Either way, it's none of our business. We aren't going to risk losing hundreds of thousands of men to defend Russia's resources from China.

1. F**K Germany. They are the ones whose politicians took bribes from Gazprom and pushed for green energy which made them dependent upon Russia for natural gas to go along with the green energy. If Germany had spent 20+ years getting Europe addicted to Russian natural gas, Russia could have never afforded to build up its military.

2. Why do you want Germany to buy Russian gas instead of American LNG? Do you want jobs for Russians instead of jobs for Americans?

Good. Let China start exploiting Russia instead of the USA. I'm ok with that.

The risk of close ties with China greatly outweighs the rewards.
