Weakest of our 2017 draft picks but still good enough to make plays on one of the best team in the nfl.

2017 has to be one of the best drafts in decades in the league.

Who’s Muhammad? Did he even make the team in 2017?

He’s stating that even our late round picks from that draft are still playing in the nfl. It was an insanely productive draft from top to bottom with essentially zero misses on a ton of picks. This isn’t that hard.

I found the extremely dense poster. The point is that the 2017 Saints draft class was amazing. It’s a major reason that we were NFC South Champions from 2017-2020.

Every single player from that draft has had a productive nfl career.

The vast majority of late round picks barely play in the league. Our 2017 draft was so stacked that even our 6th round pick still is a rotational player in the league

Should’ve won a SB or 2 with that draft

How great would it have been to have an average at best DE, that the team drafted, plugged into the roster for the past 7 years; instead of drafting bust after bust and continuously having below average performance from that position

Yep , a few coaches from that team are now Lions coaches.

So it makes sense

Maybe they will get lucky and not have Vinovich officiate their playoff games or Goodell just holds back on the cheating.

All of the draft capital and salary cap used trying to find a DE when they had Trey Hendrickson.
Trading up for Davenport, wasting a 1st rounder on Turner, and a 2nd rounder on Foskey.
Pass rush has been one of the weakest areas on the team.

Eh, Hendrickson was here 1 year earlier than Davenport and really wasn't anything special his first 3 years as he was constantly missing time due to injury. Hell, I think people were even calling him one of the misses that draft and a wasted 3rd round pick. And while they spent way too much on Davenport and he was a huge miss; you can't fault them for trying to find another edge rusher here. Where they screwed up was doubling down on Davenport and keeping him around, including a new contract, while lettering Hendrickson walk.

The keep Muhammad & Hendrickson; Turner & Foskey most likely do not happen

It’s pretty sad when our 6th round pick from 2017 has been more productive this year than our top 40 de pick from last year.

Some journeyman that we drafted makes a single sack and this is noteworthy why?

How good that draft was and how bad foskey is.

Some dude who hasn't logged playing time in 2 years comes in and plays for a contender has more sacks (1) than foskey has in 2 years.

Okay. We whiffed on a pick I am still not understanding your point. shite happens some don't work out for whatever reason. One of the best players on our team right now was undrafted at 26 years old. You guys put way too much stock in these draft picks. Sure you want way more hits than misses which for the most part we have had ,but man shite happens and you are going miss on a few of these prospects. That is why tanking is not a good strategy. Teams that do it usually remain at the bottom.

You just answered your own question from earlier. Every single draft pick from 8 years ago hit. Not all pros/probowlers, some were tho, but all are still on a roster and are being productive. You know how rare that is?

You know how rare that is, I doubt you can find another draft in nfl history where every single draft pick is still on a roster 8 years deep.
