How can anyone still support this so called organization?

As a former season ticket holder, it’s amazing anyone is left to support this team. The mismanagement is one thing but the players with a couple of exceptions have to be the most mentally fragile group of people on the planet. Not one single moment where someone has played through an injury or showed any toughness. This is beyond a joke and embarrassing.

This is what Mcnamara said 5 years ago.
Ppl owe him an apology.

When the Pelicans hired Griff. The fans were sold that he was a basketball Guru. He’s only slightly better than Dell Demps. Everyone wants Green gone ( rightly so) but how can we trust Griff making the right hire. He holds onto to Williamson like he’s going to charge and take basketball seriously. Zion is showing you who he is. A freak athlete but is more worried about being famous and banging porn stars than basketball. Griff is who needs to go first

It’s not the players, if they could they would.

I don’t understand this rationale. Griff is the guy that came in and brought this organization up to a modern standard.

He has filled the roster out with a whole bunch of good players. Consistently finds gems at the wing position, consistently identifies issues with the roster and attempts to fix them.

Yes, a big part of this team’s issues is Zion and BI, but until last season we never seen a full season of them to see if it could work. They showed it was clunky and then Griff spent all offseason trying to find a trade for the lesser player of the two.

Should Griff be fired because nobody wants Ingram? No

Should Griff be fired because Zion is consistently injuring his hamstring? No

He has done everything needed to make this franchise a successful franchise, including revamping the medical staff multiple times, hiring the coach the players wanted, and giving that coach everything he needs to be successful.

You can’t fire a coach after a 49 win season when he has shown consistent improvement, so his hands were kind of tied there. You also can’t fire him with the injuries we currently have. It’s a slippery slope right now with Willie, but I expect he will be gone sooner rather than later and JB will actually finally be able to install his offense.

Zion has played through multiple injuries

Murray finished a game with a broken hand

Ingram came back earlier than he should have.

CJ also does the same.

The medical staff definitely holds them out more than they should, but we also have players that play through injury and/or come back to early and look like shite. Can’t have it both ways

His second year he played through a broken thumb until the playoffs were out of reach.

This season he played multiple games with the hamstring issues before they shut him down. He also played a couple games while still fighting the virus that kept him out of the first game.

Ok. If thats how you see it. Technically he was missing games in between and literally pulling himself from the lineup on the day of the games.

Give me a break. To use this as playing through injuries is laughable.

Hate to break it to you. But the playoffs were still within reach. Z sat out the last 8-10 games. We were not officially eliminated until there were 2 games left. We lost a half dozen heartbreakers while Z and BI missed. And even if you praise his durability and toughness in his best 2 seasons. He ultimately got hurt both times in the most important part of the season, because he has little variety in his game. That shows it will never work with him. Zion’s best is 1) sitting out the last 10 games mid playoff race 2) moderately tweaking hamstring during a play in game and running and crying in the locker room, instead of trying to play the last 3 mins at least. He couldn’t even bring it to himself to try to play. Yet he had enough to power walk into the locker room.

There have been plenty of threads of Griffs mistakes . Pretending he brought a special value to the organization is crazy .

He’s a used car salesman . He’s talked a big game but has yet to win or come close to winning a playoff series .

Sure we have drafted okay , we’ve also had plenty of picks and opportunities . Trey and Herb were good picks . Dyson didn’t develop for us , jury is still out on Hawk . He also wasted picks to trade for centers or to buy himself out of mistakes.

Griff did well on the AD trade but has wasted much of that haul . Did okay on the Jrue trade .

Griff totally botched Lonzo’s situation . He has held on to BI to long , and is making that same mistake with Zion after royally screwing up that relationship from the jump .

He is on his 3rd coach since taking over the organization .

He’s also created a weak sissy culture .

Why would you want this guy to continue as the cleaver of your organization ???

For the 1st time ever (hornets or pelicans), I won't be going to a single game. Not wasting my money on that product

Zion. Never. Wanted. To. Be. Here.

There was never any relationship to be had EXCEPT the kid shite the bed so bad physically that he actually gave the team the upper hand in the public eye.

Worst luck Griff had was falling arse backwards into Zion, a consensus generational #1 that you can't pass up on, except he has no interest in succeeding with your organization

I get what you are saying and I agree Zion can't and shouldn't be relied upon, but if you've ever pulled your hammy, you'll know that you aren't playing through that.

I can't get over the fact we are literally unable to house a healthy team. Some of its on the players, but the freak injuries we sustain are wild.

Zion is a basketball player that did not have a choice .

That’s how a draft works .

Griff royally screwed up, period .

Zion is also unprofessional and lazy .

Both can be true .
